How nice is it to Warrick Giddey's kid bursting onto the scene! Looks like he'll fill that Simmons sized hole in the national team.
Let's go Giddey!!!

Maybe from a basketball perspective and no on everything else. I don't think he's a bad guy, but the trappings of being a basketball star seem to matter disproportionately more to him than most guys who approach his talent level. If you want to be in the spotlight, recognize you are in the spotlight 24-7 for good and for bad. Simmons hasn't gotten that yet.

I did a double-take on this. Definitely agreed on all fronts, but it threw me to hear you adopt such work-a-day vernacular without the post-post-post-postmodernism -- like seeing Superman without his cape!

It's good to be able to post in multiple styles.imo
Chones out here in his bag already! In preseason!

Yeah it's good. Though to be honest Simmons has only been a theoretical Boomer for a while.

This one I feel like maybe should be a foul, but illegal screen on Blake first.

Did Isaiah grab Harden with his left arm or did Harden raise the ball through his arm? I can't tell from this angle.

Or are we talking about this one.....where Harden definitely hooks the defenders arm to create the contact:

You should never call a foul when Harden whips his head back but that 2nd one was a block. The first one is the one from the tweet.

Doesn't matter. It's 6 months before thee playoffs and he'll be back before then.

I was looking forward to facing the full Nets team for the opener next week though
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Am I crazy for thinking they're actually better with Patty Mills over Kyrie?

Kyrie Irving's character in the MCU is The Not-a-Distractor.

Currently working on a treatment, Frank Stallone's shown interest. Feel free to share, no big deal.

Just in time to pull his hamstring on the first play of the 2nd round. Sunrise, sunset.

My guess is Kyrie will 'retire' in the next couple days and do a media tour where he says dumb **** then like a month from now he'll come back.

Why today? The only thing that's changed in the last 15+ days when it became public (and who knows how long the Nets have known privately about his vaccination status) is the Nets practice facility being considered a private office and thus not subject to NYC's vaccine mandate, which would intuitively make Kyrie's part-time status more and not less tenable.

My questions are, did this happen today because Kyrie has dug his heels in and made it clear that he's not getting the vaccine? Did it happen today because KD signed off on them not allowing Kyrie to be a part time player? If that's the case, has this strained their relationship at all because KD has basically been Kyrie's meat-shield? Or did the ownership and the front office make this decision with no input from KD or other players?

Woj reporting was that there was a meeting of five stakeholders: owner, GM, Nash, Harden, and KD. So the soap opera questions -- will Kyrie resent KD? And what about James -- does he just want more shots? Etc. Etc. will certainly apply, and I hope they keep this team on tenterhooks all year. Whatever they are. And you can't call this soap opera "As the World Turns," because it's hard to turn a flat world.

Kudos to Kyrie for sticking to his belief system. You can agree with said belief system or not, but he is demonstrating to many people how to keep their integrity when faced with the pressures of social adversity. Laugh it up if you want to, but our society has serious issues and I respect that this is more important to him than sportsball. He should take the year off at this point, though.
