Only issue is that we really don't know if any of them can play. :D

No better time to find out than in a tight championship window!

Otherwise Rui's contract seems like a closer fit if he'd be the target. Or Russell if he goes to a third team.

Jake Fischer: The Lakers have also been exploring trade scenarios with the contracts of D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent, sources said, and Brook Lopez has been one of the primary options on the Lakers’ board of hopeful acquisitions, sources said.

Feels like the likely packages would be:

Straight up for Russell...god I hope not
Straight up for Rui...same
Brook for Vanderbilt and Vincent...no thanks.

Going back to the Dallas packages that have been mentioned previously, I tend to doubt they'd do Gafford and Green for Brook, but something like Gafford and either Exum or O-Max feels like it would probably be palatable to Dallas while also getting us under the 2nd apron.

I love it. Rather have young guys with potential than scrap heap old vets. Give them plenty of burn in the RS and maybe, MAYBE, we find a playoff rotation piece or two. And that's all we need in the playoffs with a rotation of 7-8.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I don't love the trade fit with the Lakers, but I could maybe get behind a Brook for Rui/Hood-Schifino trade. No interest in Russell or Vandy and Reeves feels highly unlikely. Then hopefully flip Bobby/Pat for a Brook replacement (Capela/Vuc?).

And this is another reason we need to move Pat. Just take away the option of playing him.

Houston is still a good target to swing a deal for Brook, Bobby and/or Middleton. They've made no improvements so far.

Goals for next April:

1. Health
2. Seeding

Get to the PO's healthy and be a top 6 seed. Can't obsess about seeding during the RS, can't obsess over first round matchups. Play the youngin's plenty. We'll still get a top 6 seed.

They added Steven Adams last year to be their defensive big. He should be healthy this year.

I don’t know why Dallas would trade for Brook anymore when they have Lively, Gafford and PJ Washington.

Don't deal with LAL. That's my stance.

Good goals. But I do think we need a clearer team identity to beat Boston. Not to mention the west is going to have some legit bullies (Nuggets, Wolves, Thunder, etc). I think we need to get back to an elite defensive team (tricky with Dame) or really improve the consistency of our perimeter attack. I guess my point is I hope Doc and Horst communicate well and have created a legitimate path to improvement. I still believe that we have the (potential) best 1-2-3 punch in basketball right now. But after Giannis, Dame, and Kris our roster is confusing. There is nothing confusing about Boston’s roster, for example. Everyone there has a clear role and matching skill sets.

I don’t like any straight trades between us, but if LA really wants Brook that opens things up for three way trade.

Hypothetically, they're swapping Brook for Gafford here so he wouldn't be there anymore and PJ is a 4. The idea here is Lively and Gafford are similar players and Lively has surpassed him. Brook offers a different skillset, and one that they've generally valued (and I think is just straight up a better player than Gafford).

Did we sign Umude or do people just want us to?

He did have some nice moments against the Bucks this year.

I just realized Bobby's contract fits into the MLE, and the new rules state that a team with the MLE can absorb him in to their MLE. GS now has the MLE.

A lil Christian athlete podcast twitter account from a former ESPN Arkansas contributor said we did but provided no details on the nature of the signing.

What our view of Ivey. Rising player in a bad situation, or to sloppy to ever help a winner? It seems like their new GM would move anyone for picks.

Have always been bearish on him. I think he got a huge bump from Ja comparisons but never had the shiftiness or court vision Ja had/has.
