Maybe next year

There is not a single player or coach in the Bucks organization that agrees with you on that, or any NBA organization for that matter.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

He can still be around the team while recovering from injury. Bedsides that, why not just make him an assistant coach?

Obviously I was being sarcastic about summer league. For the in season thing, players can make some extra cash and party in Vegas. Good for them. Anyone care that the Lakers won it last year? No. They got bounced in round 1 in the tournament that actually matters. We get Miami and Indy, games with extra juice anyway, and Detroit and Toronto. Yay. I know some fans like this thing and that's fine.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I still think the NBA Cup should have some sort of regular season standings bonus. Minimally, it should be the first tiebreaker, but I really think winning it should clinch a playoff berth.

Bucks out - Pat C, Marjon, 2031 2RP

Bucks in - Corey Kispert

Saves the Bucks 6.4m and opens up a roster spot we would have the TPMLE for someone like Precious Achiuwa if we wanted to add a 4th big. Kispert is a clear upgrade over Pat on the court.

Not sure Washington has any interest but maybe? A chance to look at Marjon with the team option and the 2RP might be enough to make them eat the extra year of Pats 9m.

Dame/Trent/Khris/Giannis/Brook
Wright/Kispert/Prince/Bobby/Achiuwa
Green/Livingston

Jackson Jr./Umude/Rollins/Johnson/Smith
RIP Kobe Forever. GOAT 8-24. Long Live Giannis

The amount of TPMLE we'd have access to would be equal to the amount of space we'd have beneath the 2nd apron, because using the TPMLE hard caps you at the 2nd apron. So we'd still only be able to offer the min to any outside FA. Still: not bad.

I think the true value is that it would allow us to aggregate contracts at the trade deadline if it becomes obvious that we need to make a move. I don't think that Washington has any reason to send out Kispert for a worse version of him making more money, and a bum.

He's a great shooter, but man, is he a poor FT shooter in relation.

He could have one of the highest TS% in the league if he made more FTs.

Before this past season, he was 84% over his past 6 years. He doesn't get to the line all that often and likely just had a flukey down year. Maybe something to keep an eye on but I'd be pretty surprised if he isn't back in the 80s again next year.

Agree with it being the tiebreaker but the clinching thing could get messy. Is it guaranteed play-in? Guaranteed #5? Either way you could end up with situations where teams are resting stars even more because their best-case scenario is already locked up.

Guaranteeing a play-in spot sounds interesting. Not much incentive for frontrunner teams, but still a nice injury insurance policy for them.

Dude was terrible, and what makes it more frustrating is that the player archetype they thought Thon was, would've been the coolest player archetype to pair with Giannis. Twin towers on defense with Giannis and a 7 foot+, athletic, shot blocking & switchable 5 that can shoot 3s would be insane. It's like the basketball gods were taunting us about it..."hey you know how dope it would be to have that type of player next to Giannis? we're gonna give you a dude that is 10% that and 90% bozo"
This was a great flashback.... Pretty sure he showed up for one of the Raps finals as well. Fun times, we look so spritely

Clinching a playoff spot by simply winning the IST is problematic for competition during the RS & playoffs.

That is specifically if teams abuse it, wrt the rest of their regular season or simply have one lucky streak but don't live up to that performance otherwise.

Awesome opportunity for a tanking team to stick it to their GM, major league style.
