Again, it's great to cheer the team on regardless of these moves. But WAAAAAAYYYY too many of you are demanding that those who are against these moves just shut up and lower their standards while simultaneously pretending that those standards weren't just lowered. Two months ago, none of you guys would've been sticking up for the basketball merits of Kyle Kuzma or Kevin Porter Jr...and much like it's okay to be delusionally hopeful that one or both of them becomes a completely different person and player, it's also just as okay to be completely rational and understand that these were two bad moves and these are two players who only play well for teams that win less than 20 games. That's the reality.

I think some would rather reserve judgement and watch the new roster play some games before declaring it a disaster ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Can still move either in a sign and trade in the offseason or let them walk and have at least the full MLE available, if not more.

After hearing some ex players talking about kuzma they all said same thing throw out the wizards yrs and he is a big upgrade and will thrive playing next to Giannis and Dame. He will be the starting sf prince will go to the bench his size will help our rebounding. Here’s to hoping they are right!!

We have no bigs. If we dealt even one, we’re screwed.

And other teams aren’t going to give us a better big in exchange for our big. It doesn’t work that way.

Our bigs are pretty decent. We just needed different. We didn't need better.

Kareem level return that never won a title. Or even made the finals.
I loved the team then, but absolutely agree. Five more after they traded the best player alive.

I think Kuzma defends well here. And is a very fine third option. Sims plays a bigger role capably than we think. Porter becomes a great bench scorer. And we get the chance to add a buyout guy or two while securing Rollins roster spot. I like the moves.

That evergreen, flickering, post-deadline hope - surely they have a buyout guy lined up to fix that glaring and obvious hole not fixed at the deadline

Remember when the Cavs gave KPJs locker to Taurean Prince and KPJ flipped out...

I see it this way:

We went from a team with Middleton that was old and slow, but had Middleton who could still generate good offense for the second unit and get plays for Giannis.

Now we are going to a slightly more athletic team with Kuzma, but we lack that guy off the bench who can run the offense. If we are playing Porter Jr in that spot. we are hoping he can be more of the spark plug ISO guy. Bottom line is that both Kuzma and Porter are probably gonna be pretty frustrating to watch, but not sure the team is necessarily going to be too much worse.

I think Kuzma will be unpopular here because everyone already hates him but will probably be fine as a distant 3rd guy here.

The other two I have low expectations for. If either of them pan out to be playable on a consistent basis, that's a major win.

I feel like these guys could work if the coaching was good enough and the right schemes were being run that they could fit into and know their role...so yep...i don't think it's going to end well.

I'm ready to cut Robbins & Umude loose. Get some more promising guys in those spots.

2 months ago I was considering Kuzma reclamation project trades & ones to get under the 2nd apron. They were just for much less than the Bucks conceded in my eyes. It was for Brook/Pat & Bobby/Pat/top 10 or lotto protected '31 1st.

https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=115841983#p115841983

Playing on the lowly Wizards would be de-motivating. Giving him a change of scenery may prove a savvy move for someone. For us, he fits Giannis' timeline. I wouldn't trade any of our big 3 for him, or the '31 1st cuz he's too old to overlap with it. He'd only be worth lotto or at least top 10 protected anyway. Maybe you could structure it like that cuz the hit wouldn't be as bad.

So I guess I was sticking up for the basketball merits of Kuzma, just to a much lesser extent than the Bucks, which I've criticized them for, while consistently acknowledging he should be better/his best version here, & independently a nice player.

If it's so easy, why didn't their other coaches get the most out of these players?

They're not good players.

I didn't say that they were superstars. I just said that it might work. Big difference.

Bud had a scheme that was clear, and players that had specific roles. It worked. That's where the team is the sum of its parts, and not just a weird bunch of iso guys.

Maybe in their eyes, but the buyout route hasn't exactly been lucrative for the Bucks historically.

If there's a plus from this trade deadline, we got rid of Marjon and Delon Wright. I do feel good about that at least.
