Cavs will be such a mess when LeBron bolts this offseason.

They just took on the contracts of Clarkson and Hill, to go with the hideous contracts for Tristan Thompson and JR Smith.

Sure they look better for this year, but without James going forward, no star players and lots of bad contracts.

They were going to be terrible starting next year anyway. My concern for next year is that they now won't be able to tank properly, although the Laker trade can be undone I'd think by packaging the same 2 dudes together. Hill is only one year, so who cares? And he'll be wanted anyway. The only thing they did that hurt their future today was that first. And I still haven't seen the protection on it.

I question whether anyone can tank properly anymore. **** there are like 8 straight up rotten tanking teams this year. The bulls did everything in their power to tank and are currently sitting 8th in the tank standings. With so many teams doing it the strategy loses some of it's effectiveness.

Agree.

Disagree you guys.

They traded a bunch of poop for decent rotation players. I'd bet they go 8-2 in their next 10. The only reason why they could struggle is Lebron loses a bunch of games on purpose to tamp down expectations.

So there was a worse pick in that draft than Thon.

Damn close though.

Papagiannis needs to spend a couple years in whatever Greek division Giannis was plucked from.

That was a pretty bad pick from the get go. Not that mock drafts are the bible but he was projected in the 2nd round on some. Funny thing is there's a pretty good chance they still came out on top with that trade simply because Bogdan will probably be better than Chriss long term.

Hill has two years left at 19 and 18 million per.

Clarkson 13 and 13 million.

33 million per for Thompson and JR Smith who happened to get those ridiculous contracts because LeBron's buddies were their agents.

James did bring the Cavs a title, but he'll be leaving behind a mess.

I'd be fine with signing him to a multi year deal where we aren't on the hook for anything after this season.

Hill has 1 year left. The 2nd year is bought out for $1MM. Clarkson's contract sucks but could maybe be undone by packaging him with Nance for something close to neutral value.

The other 2 are horrible, but were there before today.

Hill's 2nd year is a TO with a 3m buyout. So he will only be getting 3m from Cle in 2 years.

Memphis literally pulled Tyreke off the floor the last two weeks so he wouldn't get hurt, yet didn't trade him.

W. T. F?

The Papagiannis pick was always terrible. At least where the Bucks picked there was Sabonis and Taurean right behind. Tell me who you would take at 13 even in retrospect. There isn't a guy 13-19 that is a rotation player for this team. Valentine is the only guy who has ever even seen min. That was a BAD draft and that was the worst spot.

A title and three trips to the Finals already, and he hasn't gone yet. Worth it.

We're already in cap hell and we've accomplished literally nothing at all.

Didn't know Jazz were so down on Hood. Did they really trade him for just Rose and Crowder or am I missing something else from the deal?

They got something for a guy they had no intention of signing. Seems OK.

The relationship deteriorated, yes. Recent comments from Hood indicated as such. He had been frequently injured, for one. BUT, man, when he's healthy he's a nice scoring athletic 2/3. I like his game. But, he's been nicked up quite a bit. He's certainly not going to help the Cavs' defense.
