They just took on the contracts of Clarkson and Hill, to go with the hideous contracts for Tristan Thompson and JR Smith.
Sure they look better for this year, but without James going forward, no star players and lots of bad contracts.
They were going to be terrible starting next year anyway. My concern for next year is that they now won't be able to tank properly, although the Laker trade can be undone I'd think by packaging the same 2 dudes together. Hill is only one year, so who cares? And he'll be wanted anyway. The only thing they did that hurt their future today was that first. And I still haven't seen the protection on it.
I question whether anyone can tank properly anymore. **** there are like 8 straight up rotten tanking teams this year. The bulls did everything in their power to tank and are currently sitting 8th in the tank standings. With so many teams doing it the strategy loses some of it's effectiveness.
