FGA for the last 5 mins of a game within 5 pts: Giannis (1.9FGA in 2.1mins), Khris (1.5 in 2.4mins). Last year, Giannis (1.5FGA in 3.3mins) vs Khris (1.1FGA in 3.1mins).

Guess Giannis is "just another one of the boys taking his turn." But sure, let's recycle the same old takes b/c we have an agenda to fill.

Did you ever expect to read an article where the Bucks are listed as having two top 15 players in the league? #1 and #15 in fact?

Nice to see Middleton get credit as a league top 15 player.

https://www.theringer.com/nba/2020/2/17/21138373/nba-player-ranking-2019-20-all-star-break

15. Khris Middleton, Bucks
Position: Wing | Previously: NR
20.4 points, 4.3 assists, 6.1 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 58.3 eFG%, 13.9 net rating, 47 GP

J. Kyle Mann: If Mike Budenholzer were to have sat down with the Bucks at midcourt of Fiserv Forum back in the summer to imagine the perfect lap, I’d say this season is close to what he would’ve envisioned. The synergy among Milwaukee’s personnel is so good that it’s lifting every player’s efficiency, but Middleton has been a critical, dynamic piece. He’s posting career-high marks in points, rebounds, assists, and true shooting percentage—and he’s doing it in the fewest minutes since his rookie season.

A big part of that is swimming next to an offensive great white shark like Giannis, but Giannis can’t make the shots for you. Middleton is killing it from everywhere, more or less, and he’s been one of the best spot-up players in the league as a result. He’s scoring 1.37 points per possession on those plays, up from 1.16 last season. I can already hear the quibbling over his place among other wings like Beal, Tatum, and Booker, but Middleton has been a fantastic plus-player on both sides of the ball for the best team in the NBA. He’s deserving.

There will always be those who think he isn't worth the money, and they may be right, however I don't think anyone can argue that his play this year isn't the best case scenario for the Bucks. He's obviously taken his game to another level. I was as skeptical as anyone, but bringing him back has been a home run decision by Horst and Bud.

I'm not going the superstar route yet with Tatum and you might not think this is a big deal but do you think Middleton could've taken over the game offensively and defended Kawhi on the other end like Tatum did last week? I think there is something about what you're seeing with your eyes instead of looking at numbers.

Realize that Khris is actually underpaid, then go back and re-read this thread.

Doesn't his salary completely rely on whether he makes or misses one shot in the playoffs? I have been misinformed.

Middleton may be one of those Steve Nash dudes who just get more skilled every year and peak as players at like 33.

His numbers are ridiculous tonight:

8/11 4/5 from 3pt.2/2FT, 8boards, 3 ast, 1 stl, 28pts in 32 minutes.

Not only was he spitting fire tonight, but he was showing some hops and quickness.

I saw him throw a jumper, then a second later flying into my screen was middleton reaching up for a potential rebound because the ball bounced the rim a couple times instead of a swoosh before going in.

I'm like...WTH is Kash doing skying for rebounds in the 4th quarter up by almost 30pts???

I'd love to have known what happens if the 5th year wasn't guaranteed. Also think he has some playoff questions his new self will need to answer before we talk about being underpaid. The good news is we're not coming here complaining about it being a terrible deal 6 months later.

Yet you had guys insisting he'll age really poorly because he doesn't have the athleticism other guys in this league do while COMPLETELY ignoring that he's always had an old man game that is built to age.

That midrange J on the baseline last night. Whoo boy, that was filthy.

I've said it before - really glad that Middleton is proving me super wrong. Thought he peaked 3 years ago. If he sustains/improves over the next 2 years, even if he drops off in those last two years, his contract will have been worth it.

Middleton has been playing stellar since returning from the injury. If only Bledsoe could take a mini-leap.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS

Elite shooter who can play on or off ball and is a good team defender. Khris is a rare player. The way he's shooting it, he should make an All-NBA team.
