Could go with PC but want something to play on PS5.

Honestly it looks and plays like it's a proper next gen, and the upgrade to PS5 will be free when it drops later this year. If you're ever looking for something new to play, I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up.

Last I heard the PS4 version was removed from the PlayStation store and I have the digital only PS5. Is it back in the store?

I offer a much different opinion. I found the game nearly unplayable. Not because of bugs (I was playing on a Ryzen 5800x and 3080), but because it wasn't enjoyable. Maybe it's because I watched a lot of the pre-launch videos over the last four years and can tell how many things they cut, who knows. I put about 15 hours in and just couldn't get into it.

If it was $30 I'd probably say buy it but I wouldn't pay any more than that.

There are enough people who still say this about the game that it's kept me from jumping in. It's weird how big of a gap there is on it, bugs aside. Maybe I'd love it like half the people seem to, but at this point I don't care enough and am content to wait out a $20 sale a year from now.

I wonder if the number of people who say that didn't make it out of the about 12-15 hour prologue. It's a pretty structured and linear trip for about that much time until it opens up and the real game actually stars.

I got through the first Act and into the 2nd, but hearing you and others mention it's better (and the mods) make me want to give it a shot again.

The Better mini map, 3rd person view, weather changer, better vehicle handling & smart gun skin changer are my favorite "basic" mods.

Finally landed a PS5. A night of insomnia had me up at 6:40AM just as they dropped some at Target. I might feel like a zombie today, but at least I know I've got a PS5 waiting for me at Target for pickup right now.

Returnal is aggressively not for me - really sick of the die-and-startover genre, personally - but it's getting some real nice reviews and it look gorgeous. Hope y'all diving in enjoy maybe the first true, new next gen game.

Beating 5BC kinda broke me for awhile for difficult games. Returnal could fill that masochistic void.

God I hope they make another - top 10 game from last gen for me. I still follow the subreddit to see all the insane builds.

Oh my god, they just patched the Steam version  It only took two years. Thanks Microsoft.

Happy to read this and see that Returnal is absolutely loaded with systems. It really does seem like it's got enough variety to make each play through very unique.

I'm ready for game reviewers to not be absolute trash at "difficult" games.

You like to write. You can beat hard games. Why don't you mix those together?

Anyone have a recommendation on a good cable modem? The one I have from Charter needs to be rebooted at least once a day and whenever I call them, the "solution" is to send a tech out who will ultimately claim that the problem must be the wiring in my condo... which is complete BS. The modem they've provided is known to be faulty (it has a bad chipset). I'm sick of dealing with their BS and my internet always cutting out while I'm working, but they also apparently have a monopoly on my address and it's the only decent speed service I can get where I am in Madison.

I have 200 Mbps service now, which is good enough when it's working. I've done some online research that has narrowed it down to a couple options from either Arris, Motorola or Netgear. If anyone has first hand knowledge or experience, I'd appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

You've probably seen this but here are some with chipset defects:

Here are some Spectrum approved modems:

I have seen these, but thanks! The one I have from them is the Hitron EN2251. Apparently whoever makes decisions at Charter hasn’t seen this list though.

The ones I’m looking at are either the Arris SB8200 or SB6183, Motorola MB8600 or MB7621 or Netgear CM1200 or CM1000. Can’t decide if the 3.1 modems are worth the extra price or not.

So yea, Returnal is a very easy recommend. It's early, but I think it's certainly not as hard as you've been reading. If you take your time you can get through it. There's ample resources to get back health, the dash system gives you invulnerability for a moment, and the right weapons make the biggest enemies trivial. The haptic feedback is so, so cool. The game feels amazing in your hands.

Between this, the draft, and the Brewers I know where my weekend is going.

So tempted to get Returnal if not just to truly feel the power of my PS5 but my backlog is stupid and I wanna play most of it. I'll try to wait until a sale or if they put it on Plus or Now.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!
