Norm Live was the best, and somehow someway it peaked in the first episode. Super Dave was the perfect guess and I watch this probably around once a month at least.

Witcher S2 was good, but it traded a couple of the mistakes it make in S1 for new mistakes this go around.

Spoiler:
I didn't have the problems tracking the async timelines like some did in season 1, but I found the editing and structural devices they used to manage (and obscure) the different timelines clunky and largely unnecessary. Season 2 is linear, and does away with any kind of editing slight of hand (good), but introduces a largely contrived, and unnecessary arc for Yennefer, that drags at the season.

At first I thought it was intriguing that the price she paid for fire magic could be her magic itself, but the show wasn't really interested in exploring what this meant, or really letting Yen grapple with her sense of self. It waved at plenty of ideas in that space, but mostly just seemed to want to have her running around on screen up until she met Ciri. She then kinda decided to kinda kidnap Ciri, but then had a revelation (that was murkily presented) and changed her mind. Just clunky stuff all around, and it puts what's supposed to be a really powerful bond between Yen and Ciri on very rocky ground as a starting point.

The vibe of this show continues to be it's real standout aspect. It's just so notably distinct from other genre shows, embracing a monster-of-the-week/horror framework, eschewing political intrigue, and avoiding fantasy's trademark self-seriousness. Production values have leveled up (and were decent before), the opening story about the cursed noble and vampire was fantastic, and the cast continues to be great.

Oh, and it's been a bit since I saw such a dramatic disconnect between people that entered into a series at different points between the books, show, and games (I'm here). I'm used to fans of an original work being precious and general grumpy about adaptations, but the Witcher book and game fanbases seem to have united in their hatred of the show. There's certainly stuff I agree with submerged within the sea of vitriol, but yeesh.

I think spiderman broke me. I watched the new batman trailer today and just felt disgusted throughout the entirety of it. I am at a point where I loathe any form of entertainment that is a reboot, sequel, or prequel.

The Matrix was one of the first viral hits I think the film still holds up, but they really milked it dry.

I think I started watching Bosch at some point but I can't really remember so I started watching it again. 3 episodes in and I really enjoy it.

She was great. Obviously Golden Girls/Palace and Mary Tyler Moore, but such a scene stealer in smaller roles, too. Think I'll watch Lake Placid tonight.

Also, not related to BW, but Station Eleven is a bonafide great show. Bummer it's limited but hopefully Murai and Somerville can find another project to team up on.

Watched episode one. I can tell they are exploring "big ideas". Seems kinda cheesy so far. Is it over my head or does it get better??

Dont think she was, just 99 going on 100, Something like 1 or 2 percent of people born in her time made it to 100 so pretty good life for her. Reports are she died in her sleep.
