Does he have a ceiling as a role player, while being an old project? Then it truly would fit Horst's prototype prospect.

I mean, Jaden McDaniels is a pretty awesome role player.

Ah. Very risky pick. Rather have DaRon. 2nd pick is sweet

Just watched some Tyler Kolek highlights. If he's there take him. Homie got that Scott Skiles in him. I Iike the Goran Dragic comp, too.

It's still a really bad general formula for a 1st rounder, if Jaden McDaniels is just about the best version you can think of when it comes to the protype of players w/ similar attributes, and he's not even close to that now.

Midds was a 2nd rd pick, then the Pistons bailed on him immediately. It's 1 thing that broke their franchise. That's not happening if you don't draft or concede a guy whose absolute best case is Jaden McDaniels. It's just somewhat regrettable, probably.

Yeah, not sure where he ranks among dudes expected to be there for me yet, but I do actually like him. And I'm usually very wary of taking the Wisconsin products in general, but he does seem like he could end up being the McConnel or Alvarado type pest who find a way to influence games.

Edit: wrong name, lmao

Spanish McConnell worked out for us.

Had to run the numbers to confirm that Kolek can indeed touch the rim without a running start.

Sure, but I don't see that defense or even that competitiveness from Klintman.

Agree, but those aren't the only options. The assets acquired for Bobby plus #23 might get us a young, athletic starter.

If it's Bobi Klintman, I am going to personally organize a bag night

Klintman looks ok when you compare his numbers to Ousmane Dieng. Then you remember than Dieng hasn't been able to get on the court and Klintman is older than him. I don't mean older as in he's older than Dieng was when he played in the NBL before he was drafted two years ago. I mean he's older right now.

I didn't like Klintman last year at all, didn't view him as a NBA prospect. I haven't watched him this year, but it's hard to believe he fixed problems I think of as personality-based.

Klintman isn’t exciting at all imo. I see his age listed differently all over the place, from 19-21 which I think is kinda weird. 6’10” wing sounds great and all but if he can’t defend guards or bigs, how much different/better than Beauchamp is he ever gonna be for us? I’d rather take Tyler Smith without question if it were a choice.

That new mock from KOC is pretty out there.

Holland and Dillingham sliding to 14 and 15 respectively is pretty eye opening. Feel like that’s the highest Ware, Carrington, and Kolek have been too.

It's standard practice to make the mock draft really weird a few weeks before the draft so that they can move everyone back to regular standings the night or morning of the draft. Gotta build the hype

Saw a report that Nikola Topic has a partially torn acl, will he slide now?

Man I don't see it with Kolek. Poor athlete (Dragic was a good athlete) no real midrange game (unlike Brunson or McConnell), good but not great shooter. Crafty finisher and good passer but I think he's overmatched at this level.

Won't be doing much sliding without stability in his knee.

I will always defer to folks who have seen more than highlights.

His height is obviously the biggest concern, but he's not so short that he'd be the first 6'3 guard to find success or anything. And it's hard to imagine an 85% FT shooter not being at least a serviceable shooter.

I don't either. He doesn't have the quickness of a McConnell. Probably a better passer but won't be able to guard anyone. Hope I'm wrong.
