Ummmm... we needed a 2nd pg... boom... we needed a 3rd banana that's physically available more often.. boom.. athletic big.. boom.. 2nd apron.. boom ... 4 lingering problems and we have the buyout market..

Be disappointed but hyperbole isn't necessary

To me I see it like this.

Jericho Sims fits the role but also he isn't good. I think he'll play, but I don't think he's a real rotation player and will play sporadically at best. We traded a CD-DNP guy for him and he'll likely fill that role most nights.

Kevin Porter gets us a backup "point guard" who is a world class, inefficient chucker who doesn't play defense and turns the ball over. He's like everything thats good and bad around Dame just the D list version.

Kuzma just isn't a third banana unless something miraculous happens. More versatile probably, reliable definitely but also worse. He doesn't play big, he hasn't tried on defense in years and he's been one of the most inefficient chuckers in the league in Washington. I'm rooting for the old Lakers guy, who was like a pretty decent role player, probably like 7th or 8th best guy on their championship team.

The apron stuff is cool. Would have been nice to do that while somehow improving the team but I don't think we did that at all and I think the way we went about it will limit our ability to even use the benefits of dropping out of it to it's most effective.

The issues that plague the team weren't solved. We didn't get POA defense and we didn't get defensive versatility at the big spots, our two biggest issues actually got worse.

Good points... any aspects of chucker-ism from kuzma/kpj will have to be snuffed out and controlled by Dame/GA/Coaches or we're in trouble. I will say this, the millisecond that Kuzma steps foot on a bball floor with a Bucks Jersey he'll be our best pick and roll guy with Dame by x10... those touches downhill where he's best might be enough offense for him. (Hopefully)

Do you think we'll look younger and faster playing - not KM and Pat? Reducing Brook and BPs minutes a little? Teams less talented than us are running off the floor mid-3rd as we had the slowest ever bucks lineup in.. that was our current problem and it's very likely fixed.

We were 30-13 only a year ago with a clueless rookie coach. Since then Doc has us muddled in mediocrity. We still have lots of talent.
He doesn't innovate.
He doesn't inspire.
He doesn't adjust.
He doesn't do anything but gaslight.

I hope we don't give up on Giannis/Dame until we get a real coach. Give those guys to Mark D or Taylor Jenkins or Kenny Atkinson and we're a contender again.

I’ve been pretty non critical about Doc but if he continues to start Dre/Prince as our starting wings and doesn’t get AJ in there it’s coaching malpractice. The current starting wing duo does not work and it definitely won’t work in the playoffs. We have plenty of minutes to know at this point how good of a fit AJ is with Giannis/Dame and that the current group isn’t cutting it. Make the change.

Again, it's great to cheer the team on regardless of these moves. But WAAAAAAYYYY too many of you are demanding that those who are against these moves just shut up and lower their standards while simultaneously pretending that those standards weren't just lowered. Two months ago, none of you guys would've been sticking up for the basketball merits of Kyle Kuzma or Kevin Porter Jr...and much like it's okay to be delusionally hopeful that one or both of them becomes a completely different person and player, it's also just as okay to be completely rational and understand that these were two bad moves and these are two players who only play well for teams that win less than 20 games. That's the reality.

Your generalizations are out of control. Demanding?
Two month ago, Khris wasn’t putting up goose eggs. That’s the reality.

He'll probably choose to go to the Lakers or somewhere else but Larry Nance would be a nice pick up if he is bought out.

The day Jon Horst is no longer the general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks will be a good day.

Kuzma is going to be the starting sf the bucks didn’t trade for him to come off bench. Prince will go to the bench. Now who Doc starts at sg it could be AJ or Trent if he wants more shooting now since kuzma is not a great 3 pt shooter.

I think Kuzma will be unpopular here because everyone already hates him but will probably be fine as a distant 3rd guy here.

The other two I have low expectations for. If either of them pan out to be playable on a consistent basis, that's a major win.

I disagree, the brand of basketball will be faster and more exciting on both ends. Keep the ball flowing mostly through Dame and we'll be fine.. we can run with the young teams now and still have great talent.. winning streaks will make everyone love everyone

It's crazy that Boston got two 1sts and Kristaps. They got that after KP playing well yet the Bucks add assets in the Kuzma deal when he is having one of his worse years. Smh.

I honestly question the hoops intuition of anybody who doesn't think Kevin Porter Jr. is an all-star level talent. I'm just not excited that watching Bucks basketball has joined the same ambivalent family of experiences as watching Chinatown and listening to Ignition (Remix).

Khris was injured most of the season and Pat was out of the rotation a lot, we saw A TON of minutes without them that were still not looking impressive. To me, we added three guys who aren't very good, that doesn't change the fortunes of those minutes. Teams running us out of the gym often was the effect of bad defense and bad offense leading to teams creating good looks off of that, we added more bad defenders and bad offensive players. Talented. Sometimes pretty good offensively. Most of the time bad. If we somehow harness all the best from them, sure, looks good. There's a reason we got them for Khris' corpse, Wright and Marjon though, they suck. They'll probably suck for us. I don't think different kinds of suck changes the team.

I am not. The Bucks see their cup title as a recipe for success and Khris was not there. Bobby, Brook and Pat were there.

I am kind of surprised that we traded Khris because:
1. I thought Giannis would veto it
2. I didnt think there was a single team who would take him

Or to make it simple, I thought that Khris is more valuable to us than to anybody else. Even as cooked as he is.

Give me 35% from three, effort, and passable rebounding and defense and I won't hate it.

33% from three, defense and positive +/-

He can do it.

I can only blame him for not trading Khris before. Like 2 years ago. But that would require Nico Harrison size of balls, and nobody has Nico balls.

Lopez is older and older, but I fully understand why we didn't trade him. He has been such a perfect C for Giannis.
Portis scoring in 2nd unit and rebounding are also so important. I understand.

Horst did what he can really. Khris injuries are main thing to blame. If healthy we can still win it all this year IMO. But somebody has to take Celtics out before us because I dont think we can beat Celtics. Everybody else we CAN beat in playoffs if we are healthy.

Before AJ Johnson .... it was Sam Merrill and Kyle Kornet ... both are in contenders rotation.
We should be more mad about how Boston has the younger version of Brook on 2M contract and we kept Brook on 23M per year.
Thank God AJ Green turned to be a taller version of Merrill but then again Horst should recognise talent better.
The grade of the Khris trade will be determined from how good AJ Johnson will become.... As of now it was necessary to get off khris Player Option contract while getting under the 2nd appron, while keeping our 31 1st too.

In 4 seasons since leaving the Bucks Luke Kornet has hit 4 three pointers. Not a single shot from 16ft-3pt. "Younger Brook"

My view on things...

Middleton even if he were healthy in the playoffs (big IF), would be a liability. Sure he can run the 2nd unit offense, but on defense he would be targeted. Thus cannot share playing minutes with Dame. Expecting Dame to play 40+ minutes in the playoffs, it really is not a very good allocation of cap.
I believe that was the thought process. If you accept that, then it just a matter of what the market can give you. Getting under the 2nd apron while keeping the 31 pick will be huge for the offseason.

Other than that we got players that may become part of the rotation for players that were off the rotation.

In reality, we will go as far as Giannis and Dame can take us. This was the case before the trade deadline and this is what is the case now. If we don't have our main guys healthy we are toast, but few teams aren't.

Horst has done an ok job considering all the injuries in our star players the past years. Few mistakes, sure. But overall the roster each year would compete if we were healthy. (Please don't hate me)

Khris didn't get immediately traded by Washington, that kinda shows you what the market was for him...Kuzma was probably the best available for him and we had to include assets. A lot of "ifs" need to fall in place for this team to win but at least we have a shot now.
