That stat uses defender distance right?Something very hard to track correctly so my first reaction is to dismiss it without even looking at it

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?
Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

Don't we need to make a corresponding move to free up the space to sign Hill? Haven't seen any official mention what that is yet.

Yeah, that's my understanding at least. I'd imagine we'll be hearing Leuer is waived & stretched fairly soon.

Is it possible we signed him and we don't need to make a move until we sign Middleton?
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

I think we're at ~$5mm over the salary cap with Leuer's full deal, Middleton's cap hold, and the TPE Cap Hold. So I believe we need to renounce the TPE & do something with Leuer (likely waive) to make enough cap space to sign Hill. We do not have his bird rights

Seems like we're pretty much done (aside from filling out roster with min guys) and if we do make a move to get better, it won't come until the trading deadline.

So then we would actually be saving money? Or am I just wrong?

You can't combine a player and a TPE for salary matching purposes. But if Covington fits into the TPE you very well could absorb him creating a TPE for Minnesota which they could use to absorb Leuer. In theory.
Can we do it in two separate deals at the same time? Covington for TPE and simultaneously trade Leuer and pacers first to Wolves as well for a second?

Bill Michaels advocating for Russell Westbrook was enough to scare LED off the pursuit.

He thought we could trade Bledsoe for him.

I do listen to Bill Michaels sometimes for the entertainment value but that is not a compliment to him.

The stretch provision has been Horsty's saviour the last few seasons.

I just remind myself that we'd be paying Tony Snell and Miles Plumlee a combined $23m next year otherwise.

I put most of this on Hammonds and Kidd, even Snell.
That said, if/when the Middleton contract becomes a boat anchor.....fair game on Horst.

Glad we finally don't have a lot of dead wood!
But we don't have many sizable 'salary slots' that we could easily incorporate into deals either. Ersan is probably our most tradeable contract but he doesn't make that much $ and is one of our few shooters.
When do we find out whether we have a TPE?
