My wife & I watched the 1st season of The Wheels of Time over the past 2 days. It seems like a show that we would both like but it's largely forgettable.

Yellowstone:

Spoiler:
Still don't give a **** about Jimmy. Just don't care at all. Think I'm done with the show.
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

I was incredibly disappointed with season 4. Way too much of people I don't give a damn about. Very little action. Just a bad season after a pretty incredible first 3. I'll give 5 a shot but won't be waiting around.

Now Dexter NB, now THAT is a season. One episode left and I honestly can't wait!

Is it just me, or has Bob's Burgers kind of sucked this season? I thought the episode where Bob road tripped with Teddy was a charming look at how older, single people don't need or deserve pity. I thought the episode where Gene started going to daycare was an all time classic. The beach cleanup was ok. Every other episode was very forgettable.

Uh huh. I believe it.

Thanks for the warning.

Although the reviews both from critics and audiences are pretty good. I'm very torn on this.

I thought it was going to be much better, or much worse. It ended up being very average and forgettable.

Same! It was just this weird mishmash of rebooting the original, a documentary covering the original and a movie that just happened to take place in two different worlds, one of them being the Matrix. The original is still one of my all time favorite movies, this one to me was probably the worst of all of them, and I thought 2 and 3 were pretty meh.

Agreed. Yellowstone S4 was a letdown. 1883 is good so far, 3 episodes in. Dexter I'm really enjoying.

I enjoyed watching it but it was extraordinarily unnecessary and fully up its own ass. One of the things that makes the original so good is the straightforward simplicity of it, and how economical they are in getting to the point.

1. Things are weird.
2. Everything is a simulation.
3. "I know kung fu."

Also, in this one, all the non-fighting scenes that take place in the matrix are bad, and there are a lot of them, and all the lore of the new matrix and what's happened in the real world -- the allegiance of man and machine, the physical resurrection of Neo and Trinity -- is dull and perfunctory. There are some things I liked about it, but they're overwhelmed by the failure to justify its existence.

So can I just read the plot of 3 on Wikipedia and watch it or not?

If so I'll give it a shot. I'm not rewatching 3 though. I don't care enough for that.

Season 3 wasn't very good either. Disappointed they've wasted having Josh Holloway and now Jackie Weaver join the cast.

Boba Fett? Sorry guys, I have a familiar feeling about this when the Mandalorian was dropped.

Walking and a sleepy script. Visually, nothing to see here, like at all.
I needs shades for this future thing we owning..... 8-) 8-) 8-)

Seems that is what's happening. I'll predict a pretty hard flop for that one.

Starting it this weekend. Glad to see there's already nine episodes to check out. I love Mackenzie Davis so much.

Was scrolling this thread at the same time I was scrolling HBO for something else. I never heard of it so I checked it out and what it's about, watched the first episode and yea I'm in. This looks extremely good. Reading about it a bit, based off a book from 10ish years back and production was started before covid. Boy were they ahead of the times a bit huh.

I think I hit my breaking point this week with my cable bill of $150. I've been paying it forever but the thing that set me off was the $18 fee for the OTA channels that I can get for free. It's something they tack on to your bill but when I saw it I just got very pissed. Now I think I'm going to cancel literally everything I have and save myself a couple hundred every month.

Decent finale of Dexter and much better conclusion than the original series but I felt like it came so abruptly and could’ve used a couple more episodes to flesh out some character and plot development.

Spoiler:
I really wish the original series had a similar ending but with Deb being the one that kills Dexter. I had no emotional connection with Harrison.

And they could’ve done a Deb spin off series. Jennifer Carpenter knocked that role out of the park and one of my criticisms of this series was a lack of Deb.

I also am kind of happy that Doakes from the original series gets exonerated post Mortem. He was a great character and a good dude. Didn’t deserve the fate he got as the Bay Harbor Butcher especially since it was a cop out to close that plot hole.

Spoiler:
I enjoyed it for the most part. Made up for the original ending. I would have enjoyed another season or two but this was an appropriate finale. I would have really enjoyed a Dexter and Bastista face to face. I hope they don't do any series with Harrison but I guess that's open if they want to do it.

Dexter finale
Spoiler:
I liked the season as a whole but was really not a fan of the finale.

I was totally fine with Dexter dying, but it just felt incredibly rushed and there were interesting/more satisfying ending options they could’ve gone with including a Dexter/Batista interaction, which I felt was a major kick in the nuts to tease that and then go *nowhere* with it. There’s so much they could’ve shown with the fallout of the BHB/Kurt Caldwell murders being exposed, but nothing.

I also felt Dexter was uncharacteristically sloppy this season, I get he was “rusty” after years off but still. Loses his **** towards the end, killing Logan and going the nuclear route despite them not actually having any hard non-circumstantial evidence against him? Nothing concrete tying him to the BHB killings and the ketamine/m99 plot hole too. It was a really bad look obviously but a lawyer could’ve gotten him off.

And then the whole Harrison ending - Dexter is in his eyes the cause of him being so **** up…so the solution to that is him killing his own father and losing everything he grew attached to in Iron Lake? Sure lol
