Still fun. PSA: The greatest block in NBA history is in this video. "The Block" still being attributed to Lebron is a travesty. JR Smith did all the work to make Iguodala adjust and tee it up for Lebron. Giannis stopped the dribble, and then recovered to the roller to block a lob dunk. Never seen it before, and will likely never see it again. Clutch moment: 10/10. Degree of difficulty: 11/10. The Valley-oop was cool, but that block was the play of the series. In fact, find a better defensive play ever. Good luck.

LeBron's was in G7, that makes a difference, but it's little discussed that Giannis had a nearly identical chasedown block to The Block on Bridges in that series, with Middleton in the JR Smith spot.

Really? To each his own, I guess.

This article reminds me of the idiot in the Celtics jersey I sat behind during There’s Something About Mary who kept whisper-warning everyone about the Brett Favre cameo. Dude, we know this isn’t his best moment. At least we won’t see Drew Bledsoe up there.

Demi Moore as a powerhouse within the greater powerhouse? meh.

This article is a pre-emptive strike against the inevitable linking of the 2024 Celtics with Shakespeare in Love. Sure there was some star power, and they did get the trophy - in a down year for competition. Let’s be real though, 26 years later, nobody's except maybe Gwen about transcendence.

So, to fit into the new style of post on here…

Dear Dame, Giannis, Khris, and Brook,

Did you see what that wanna-be Kevin Spacey freak Bill Simmons? He’s saying you all are crappy actors who got paid and then time passed you by. Angela Bassett and Meg Ryan.

But that’s not what I see when I look at you. I don’t see a Winona Ryder in any one of you, even squinting.

Because when I squint, even just little bit, I see are true conquering heroes. Disney Princess Heroes. And not the old school ones, I mean new Disney Princesses, strong and independent, princesses that haven’t even been invented yet. Princesses that will be developed 10 years from now based on what you do these next 11 months.

Yeah, when I squint, I see the Jordan/Pippen Bulls, the Russell Celtics, the 1927 Yankees. I see Cinderella.

I’ll be rooting for you.

Respect,

The bucks are like the avengers if the avengers were new school Disney princesses. I thought it was rather self explanatory and well written personally.

So what are the expectations when it comes to our closing lineup when Giannis plays center?

Dame/Delon/Trent/Khris/Giannis

Dame/Delon/Khris/Prince/Giannis

Dame/Delon/Khris/Bobby/Giannis

Gotta have Dame, Giannis and Khris on the floor, Delon is your “defensive ace” so he’s on the floor, who’s the 5th piece and how does he fit?

I personally think way too many people are anointing 32-33 year old Delon Wright as this automatic/theoretical closing lineup dude. As long as Trent isn't a train wreck on defense, he's your starting 2-guard in every scenario I can imagine.

I'm confused. That's not a real column is it?

Makes sense. The fact that I had to question it makes Simmons quite the boob. I wouldn't have put it past him.

Taurean Prince seems more likely to me than Delon Wright to force his way in to key lineups.

One of those guys got waived last year. The other was a starter for Darvin.

Middleton at the 4 and Giannis at the 5. FTW.

If Prince can’t effectively flank those guys we need someone who can.

Delon was waived/bought out by a Wizards team going no where so he could join the Miami Heat where he averaged 26.8 minutes in their 1st round playoff series.

I think this is more of a matchup dependent question.

Wright only played a bunch because Rozier and Jimmy were out that entire series. Fact of the matter is he was a buyout guy for a reason and it's because Washington couldn't find anyone to take his $8 million expiring salary for free. There are much worse 8th-9th guys to have on your roster, but I'm not really expecting anything better than what 2021-22 George Hill gave you. Solid, stabilizing backup PG play, but not anyone you'd ideally want out there playing a big role in the postseason.

Yeah I’ve wanted Delon on this team for a while but I fear we got him a couple years too late. I don’t think he’s cooked or anything but I certainly don’t think he’s a starter or closer in any meaningful playoff game. Hope he proves me wrong though

I think trying to figure out closing lineups and minute allocations is a less relevant discussion going from Bud to Doc.

Where Bud would largely find his plan and stick to it, Doc is going to be much more active in trying to find the hot hand. I think the minutes will swing more for the players we just brought in, particularly in the playoffs.

That's all he needs to be for this team. A solid veteran who won't pee his shorts in the playoffs and will provide solid minutes off the bench.
