Expirings may not be very valuable next year. Everyone will be getting massive cap space the following year.

Trade Targets (final 90 minute countdown)

Post#6902 » by Larry Hensen » Thu Feb 19, 2015 6:22 pm

Now if hambone was reported to be practicing then I'd consider nothing to happen.

If we had placed a higher priority on maintaining cap space, yes. But we prefer to take up cap space on guys like Zaza, Bayless, Kenyon Martin, Gutierez, etc.

What a let down. You all should be proud of making it to 345 pages already...for absolutely nothing!
Bucks fan since day one. Go Bucks!

Is it a big risk to be at practice? The Bucks are having an open practice, so I doubt it is anything physical where an injury is any kind of risk. I think there is a bigger risk keeping Knight and Ersan off the court, messing with their heads and telling them they are trying to trade them to a team out west. If a trade does happen, just quickly grab him with an assistant coach to make a quick exit.

Henning's tweet took the air out of the room here.

Hard to believe they'd have the player(s) suited up if there was a pending deal.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Holding onto Middleton + Henson could be seen as a massive win for this trade deadline.

Well, at least his contract won't be a hindrance like it is this year. I just see him having good value as a 2 month rental.

If nothing happens, we will just have to fire up this thread again when the draft gets here.

I think that it was a long shot for us to make a trade that people would be happy with either way. I don't think we had the trade-able fodder to make a Lawson trade happen that the Nuggets would be happy with. I don't think people here would be happy with us half season renting Kanter for anything more than Ersan and garbage.

I will say that if an Ersan for Stauskas/Thompson trade was on the table and we balked at it, that I will be furious. We should have instantly pulled the trigger on that.

No trades better than bad trades. All the Kanter talk was vomit inducing

I look at no moves as good news, honestly. The players I had real interest in trading were Ersan and Mayo.

Yeah, a health Ersan has been a decent player this year. The problem is that he's so rarely healthy this year. If he can just stay in shape enough to play 20 minutes a game he's probably going to help more than hurt.

I'd rather trade him but I don't know why another team would want him. So I'll just hope he can do something for us the remaidner of the season.

Martin and Guttierez are min salary players you have to have on your roster to meet even 12. Bayless and Zaza have significantly outperformed their salaries and in fact could even be argued Zaza is a better player overall than JaVale McGee.

What about a lottery protected one in 2016, which is being projected as the weakest draft in a long time...?

regardless of the draft whether we end up using the pick or not... I just think a #1 has more value than stauskas if we put it up for sale. maybe im the wrong guy to ask.... I just don't like him much.

Most of us are familiar with the concept of not being allowed to reveal sources.
First time I've ever seen someone say they can't remember who their source is

Quality reporting.
Those "media outlets" he writes for must be proud!
