Gasol and Love are the only players I could see hitting free agency that are going to get a max slot contract.

Unless he tanks down the stretch, I have to think he opts out.

Is Henson hurt? He's apparently been sitting out of all contact drills.

Henson seems like a pretty laid back dude, don't think he's the type of guy that would take things personally.

Can't really say who, but he'd be on my list. I just want the flexibility. I'd probably max Jordan, Butler, Gasol, among others. I wouldn't extend Dudley regardless.

I don't think I'd max Butler. Gasol, Jordan, and Love are the only ones on my list for this offseason.

After hearing Dudley's podcast on grantland I don't see him opting out.

What he said on the podcast made me a little more optimistic, but of course Dudley is going to be overly diplomatic when asked about something like that. And we know he hates being in cold places.

And Henning is at the practice, so I would think this is probably true lol

I would max out Butler in a nanosecond.

Hopefully, work harder and get ready for his contract year.

Yeah hopefully, but mentally checking out can't be taken out of the equation either. Just gonna have to wait and see I guess. Still worrisome to me though.

If we had placed a higher priority on maintaining cap space, yes. But we prefer to take up cap space on guys like Zaza, Bayless, Kenyon Martin, Gutierez, etc.

Martin and Guttierez are min salary players you have to have on your roster to meet even 12. Bayless and Zaza have significantly outperformed their salaries and in fact could even be argued Zaza is a better player overall than JaVale McGee.

No doubt that argument can be made as far as Zaza. The point is more about acquiring the additional 1st round pick. Would I rather pay Zaza and Bayless, or JaVale & get a 1st round pick? For the Bucks circumstances, Javale & the 1st, no question.

It's of no consequence to me that Bayless has outperformed his contract so far thi season (though he's tailed off significantly lately and has been horrible in 4th quarters for a while, so it's possible we won't be able to say that by seasons end). The Bucks aren't close enough to being a title contender that we should be rostering Bayless type players at the expense of flexibility.

I absolutely love what Junkie has been doing with the Sixers. Hopefully for the Bucks, history won't repeat itself and find the Bucks in a multi year title contention window in which they are able to get past one of the Sixers or Celtics in the playoffs, only to be knocked out by the other, never getting to the Finals.

Definitely agree he seems like a chill type of personality but may not change the fact he feels slighted now you know. Sometimes those mental aspects weigh heavy and show in performance. Could change his demeanor from team oriented to "I" oriented just to prove a point. But like u said it doesn't seem like he's the ego driven type but it still worries me that if he does decide "well I've been workin my butt off for this team and they thank me by trying to ship me out, it's time to look out for #1, screw them", it'll definitelt hurt the team overall. Right? I don't think that can be ruled out for any NBA player imo, ego driven or not...

The reality of the NBA is everyone is worthy of being traded for a price and Henson is no different.

My point on the cap space is that I'd rather sign a big name this year right before the cap explodes if we can. We aren't drafting high anymore. Rather be signing max guys off a $66.5M cap than a $91M cap, especially considering I think there will be far more teams to contend with a year from this summer.

I agree. The more I think about it, the more I like Deandre Jordan for this team. I think he is a perfect fit and really suits our weaknesses.
