Semi Ojeleye of SMU posted an impressive 40.5 Max Vertical Leap (tied for fifth best), but perhaps the more significant numbers for him were the 10.58 seconds he posted in the lane agility testing and 3.16 seconds he posted in the three-quarter court sprint which rank third and eighth best overall respectively. Ojeleye weighed in at strong 241 pounds yesterday which he has proved is not too high of a number to compromise his athletic ability. He's a highly unique physical specimen, ranking in the 95th percentile or better in those three categories in our extensive database. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Semi-Ojeleye-7164/ DraftExpress

I had read reports that he was too slow to play the 3 and not a good enough defender to play the 4, so he's basically a tweener without a position. He can definitely play the NBA, and he should fit fine at the 3 - not to mention that having a guy like Giannis gives you all kinds of flexibility. As the writer alluded to, the key for him was doing so well in the lane agility test. That and his 40.5 vertical says he can guard people if he applies himself - which he frankly probably didn't do in college. He clearly spent a lot more energy on the offensive end, and that's gotta change in the NBA. Still, first and foremost, he was a high volume and efficient scorer with a big-time 3 point shot. And he did the athletic tests at 241 lbs, so eventually he's going to be able to matchup with the bigger athletic swing forwards in the NBA - such as George and an older Lebron and Melo. Bucks need to surround Giannis with shooters, and he is a shooter with potential that I think most people haven't given him credit for.

I like more than just about every other name I've seen floated around here.

Interesting to note Semi used to play behind Jabari.

Have to admit after Anthony Bennet, I'm petrified of the tweener role. Too slow for the 3 too small for the 4.

Could Semi be the next Ron Artest?

I know it's all projections at this point but despite being a giant athletic freak Semi was just simply not a good defender in college.

Semi is literally a Crowder/Justin Anderson clone sizewise with a little better guard skills. He's not physically slow as I've seen him slide his feet and stay in front of PGs and cut them off. It's recognition and awareness (and effort at times when they had a big lead against bad teams), puts him a step slow at times but he understands positioning and team defense on a team that switched on everything. SMU was 15th in defensive efficiency

Crowder had 88 steals and 35 blocks his last season at Marquette. Ojeleye had 1 more block and 15 less steals than Luke Kennard. I don't hate him as a prospect but he was just simply not a good defender and I see a tough time projecting him as one in the NBA. Whether it's his effort or fundamentals or both I just don't see it. Projecting "athletes" as defenders is one of my growing pet peeves though so maybe I'm just biased.

God no. Do you remember early Artest in Indiana?

Crowder got called for 93 personal fouls to Semi's 62 and Semi struggled with fouls at Duke. So I think it has a lot to do with how he was coached and scheme. Crowder played for a coach that valued deflections. Justin Anderson wasn't a big steals and blocks guy in college either because Virginia doesn't foul and yet he is getting them at a respectable level in the NBA.

Btw I'm not clamouring for Semi at 17 but I do like him as a player. I don't think he's going to be a good defender but he did play in an NBA ready scheme and did fine

I think I'm starting to lean towards Luke Kennard if he's there. With recent news of him moving up draft boards, it's unlikely, but if he's there, I'd be interested.

Matches, I feel the same way, but with the way the league is trending, he won't last. Just too much premium on floor spacing.

If you guys noticed his shirt in the workout vid, Kennard is the white point god from Duke. And I'll see myself out.

Anything from late December until Watson went down, I'd say. After that, he struggled. Creighton didn't have enough playmakers and he's so green, but he had an easy chemistry with Watson that was fun to watch.

Love Kennard, has a lot of Klay Thompson to his game, with the exception of arm length, Kennard has those gator arms....whoever they pick, don't want them if they can't shoot.

How effective is Carlos Boozer in today's NBA? Slotting him in at the four hurts more than it helps in today's NBA.
