And go figure, I just got a 2nd interview with a company the day before school starts. Not sure what I'm going to do if I get offered a job.

Perfect. You'll be perfectly honest and show both offers to both employers and give them a chance to beat each other's offer :D

How good is Ronaldo still? Not going to lie I’m pretty excited to watch him live with my peacock subscription but don’t want to be disappointed and have to wake up early(I work in the middle of the night so I’m usually sleep when premier league is playing live) just to watch a washed up name.

I was cutting up some onions for my skirt steak tacos that I was cooking on the flattop last night, goddamn cutting board slipped and I got the tip of my thumb. Definitely investing in a nonslip cutting board today.

Get a heavy wooden board and put a piece of shelf liner underneath (or a damp rag). Won't move a millimeter.

Yeah we use damp paper towels in our house.

1) Learn the proper way to cut onions:

2) Proper knife grip and safety skills are important (even if the board slips, you should never cut yourself)

While the wood cutting boards are a good option no arguments there, if you do want something nonslip, I have a couple of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005KSDFY0/

You can find them in different sizes and colors which I like because when I open my drawer I just have to remember which color to grab based on what size stuff I'm cutting (or you could do specific colors based on what you use it for - veggies, poultry, etc. if you want to go that route).

I had a rather close call cutting up some onions and peppers for some tacos last night due to MY board slipping. Small world. Glad yours wasn’t worse! Hope you recover quickly.

I’ve never thought of wet paper towels underneath, and that video on proper knife technique was helpful as well. Thanks for the tips, guys.

One more knife comment. Obviously a slip is a slip and could have been caused by many things, but if the slip was because you were needing to apply too much force to make the cut, consider getting your knives sharpened. You can do it yourself, but it's also not very expensive. There should be local options wherever you are - many kitchen shops will do it, like Sur La Table - and some online options too.

Dull knives are dangerous!

Thanks for the tips and suggestions. It was a freak slip, I'm sure doing the cutting outside in 90+ degrees while I had a few drinks had a lot more to do with it than the actual cutting board slipping but I still upgraded it. My wife won't stop giving me **** about it because my mom is a chef and I grew up doing prep work in her kitchens.

Successful trip, only fell once and made it to the big springs which is the supposed cutoff without a permit (10 miles in total). Also got to do Angels Landing and the Emerald Pools. Minus the camp roaches and heat it was a pretty solid vacation.
Inadequate perception I reckon it's from the Valium
