Bobby was playing beach volleyball with a friend of mine at Bradford Beach yesterday for anyone who cares.

What do we think the Nets would be prioritizing in a return?

Assuming Nets go into full rebuild. So they'd want young players and assets.

Here's how I'd list the contenders for him (not in order)

-MIami shows up offering Herro and picks.
-Raptors have assets.
-Suns with S&T of Ayton (not sure of S&T rules here)
-Mavericks (Brunson S&T plus assets)
-Boston - Might they give up Jaylen Brown? Nets would need to send more back to Boston IMO

I think that's the clear five frontrunners.

Where's Memphis? They're stacked.

Yes, and KD is a big Morant supporter. Memphis is really the favorite.

Could DAL S&T Brunson for Kyrie then trade for KD?

whoever trades for a 34 yo durant will get worse with whatever ransom they have to give up. its almost like id love to see our toughest competition gut their stables of youth and picks to even make that happen

hes still really good no doubt but what just transpired in this years playoffs was real and its not going to get better for him just a little worse year after year. hes not a leader and a difference maker that way as a vet either. im not worried about this much. seems like a cool soap opera we can follow as bucks fans tbh

Durant is much better than everyone except Giannis, BKN isn't winning any trade where they deal Durant.

I don't see the point of that for Brooklyn. If they trade Durant they won't be contending. Middleton and Jrue get you an 8th seed with that roster. Brooklyn is going to have to get foundational young players and picks.

If by some miracle Durant wants to come to Milwaukee the Bucks need to find a 3rd trade partner.

Man I’m slightly lower on than him than most but it’s still Kevin **** Durant lol. The dude is generational even at 34. He’s proven way too much to be dinged this much by one crappy series.

A team that wants Jrue and Middleton but is in no position to trade for Durant. I don't think that team exists. Every team that fits the bill would just cut us out.

I don't see Durant wanting to play in Memphis, hence why I didn't put him in the list I had posted above. Ditto for Cleveland.

What assets does Miami have left? I think they'd deal pretty much anything save for Butler and BAM.

Maybe there's value to be had in participating in the KD madness, but not with KD to the Bucks. KD and Irving hitting the market means that other good players on the market won't fetch high prices because teams will hold their assets in hopes of potentially landing KD.

Miami has nothing for assets outside of Butler & Bam. They don't have their 2025 pick so the picks they do offer will have to be far, far away.

I don't know if Lowry, Herro, and Max Strus is gonna get it done, but apart from a lotto protected 1st in 2025, they've got all their 1sts, and frankly that's one team I wouldn't mind to have a bunch of future firsts for. Not only are their players old, their **** GM is Lloyd Bridges. Not the same as getting the picks from a team with a 25 year old Giannis.

I agree, but again, the X factor is where Durant wants to go. Lots of teams could offer a nice package of young talent and matching contracts, but if Durant doesn't want to play there I doubt he's moved.

Miami has Bam, and that's the only asset I would expect Brooklyn to want from them.

Frankly, Durant and Jimmy Buckets is terrifying.

I'd have my money on MIA being his choice and them finding a way to do it based around Lowry's contract. BKN has now twice been burned (assuming Hous cleans up on that deal) by the hand over picks far down the line move. They should look to do the same in return here. Take the far out picks, wait for KD and Butler to get old, get like 3 top 10 picks
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.

MVP2110 wrote:To clarify it doesn't have to be Rolo. I just thought he was a good example of a veteran center who can play the drop, hit an open 3, and wouldn't command high dollars or even a guarenteed role. I definitely think having Brook insurance this year is paramount. We shouldn't go into the season with him as our only center option

What about Bobby? The defense was better with Bobby at center last year than it was with Brook at center each of the last 2 years. Giannis is also a Center.

The thing we need to avoid is having Giannis as the only 4 on our roster again.

maybe i have to see the deal but i just think the ship has sailed on teams winning with a mega core and not much else. like i can see us or boston or miami getting better if we just swapped a core piece for him but that deal isnt happening.

so again maybe i have to see the deal but looking around the league my immediate reaction is if the top teams give up a bunch of pieces they may be getting worse not better. for him to help somebody in a major way it would scare me worse to happen in free agency with what comes back in those s/t deals. almost every older star under contract thats been dealt the last couple years it has backfired on the acquiring team if a stable went out

Just to make it work financially, if we stipulate that Bam and Butler are untouchable, it would have to start at Lowry and Robinson. Then you'd have to add Herro and a trove of picks and I'm guessing there would be some wrangling about Vincent and Strus
