Now, why would they talk with all these people? League protocols, but also, many times you interview candidates to learn their intel and ideas.

Kenny Atkinson -"Kenny---What do you think our problems were last year? How would you solve them? Any personnel thoughts?"

People get milked for free info all the time in the business world. Can't tell you how many RFP's get responded to, and the company doing the selection knew ahead of time who they were selecting. But they got the best ideas from a multitude of perspectives. For FREE.

This. It's always good business to do a lot of interviews.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

We finally agree on something...lol.

I am with you on this one, the fact that Nick Nurse hasn't really even been mentioned makes me think he's their guy and they probably already have the contract ready to be signed. They're just doing protocol and PR with all these other names. I'd feel less confident about Nurse if his name was in the mix with the other guys.

We already know my opinion on Bud as a coach, but he's a good guy and a class act and he did help bring a title to Milwaukee. It would be a bad look on the Bucks part and kind of a slap in the face to Bud to fire him and then announce a new coach with a week or two. Bud had to go, but even I don't think he deserves to get slapped in the face on his way out.

We could be wrong, but I would bet heavily on Nurse, Bucks are just waiting for the smoke to clear.

Can confirm that this is definitely a thing.

I remember Zanik telling me about how the Jazz coaching search went when they eventually hired Quin Snyder. Data driven breakdowns of like every possible person you could think of (college/euro/pro), what type of coach they are, strengths, weaknesses, compilations of their teams play styles, career achievements, their coaching trees, etc. Doubt that's happening here, lol.

Feel like it's gotta be Nurse or we're doomed, only guy who is actually a clear upgrade to Bud for me

Totally agree here. How on earth is the national media not reporting whether either Nurse or the Bucks are interested in each other? You would think one person somewhere would have a source with one of them and have tweeted something out by now one way or another?

I have great fear in anyone who is not him, unless its Pop or Phil Jackson are coming aboard...

Monty would be terrible.

Ayton/Crowder situations were not handled well. Bridges playing so well after he was traded.

Also the Bucks have to resign Crowder to keep the salary spot and hiring Monty would eliminate that option.

Have you seen any reports of Bud being interested in open NBA jobs?

I have a lot of respect for Monty but he wouldn’t be the right fit here. Hopefully his name is just run of the mill scuttlebutt.

True. But that's because he's on a lake with a beer somewhere :)

Monty Williams is a rare case of character. Tragically losing your wife has to be up there with 1 of the worst life altering things that can possibly happen to a man. I think anyone strong enough to push forward after something like that shows a certain characteristic you look for in a quality leader among other things. He’s just clearly not a X and O guy or his teams wouldn’t get smoked in game 6s in the playoffs 3 consecutive years in a row. Having said that, he’s a rather meh candidate unless he brought KD with him lol

Monty WIlliams would just be a bizarre choice after firing Bud. He should feel disrespected if we did that. I'm not a Horst guy but surely he's not that stupid?

The Lue bit is much better news.

Yeah, not firing a coach to hire the coach he beat in the Finals.

That can't be true.

LOL Monty and Lue on the Bucks radar is maybe slightly more meaningful than Giannis being on the Knicks radar.

Per Woelfel
Sources said in the aftermath of Budenholzer’s firing that his assistant coaches were informed they are free to pursue jobs with other teams.

One of the Bucks assistant coaches – Charles Lee – is a finalist for the vacant Detroit Pistons head coaching position. The other finalists are Kevin Ollie and Jarron Collins. Several NBA sources contend Ollie is likely to land the job.

Those are the Pistons' finalists.

I understand why you thought that because Gery writes like an eighth grader.

Also, it's gonna be Nurse.

I'll be shocked if it isn't.
