"Dad-gummed"? Now you're using words my grandfather used and he was born in the 1880s.

Chonestown is not for an age, but for all time

Yes. My grandfather used to talk about him.

I don't really see how they have much cap space. They have a $14.1M NTMLE, a $5.1M BAE, and a $7.2M TPE. Lillard and Kuzma is $76M in dead salary. It has already been all that confirmed they aren't getting a DPE for Lillard either.

Realistically, they need to add probably at least 4, maybe 5 rotation players. They have two net positive players on the entire roster currently, GA and Green.

It's going to take a Herculean effort by Horst to put together a roster that can do anything, especially with Doc back.

The free agent class looks rough, who are possibly even interested in?
Ty Jerome, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Levert? (Mo Wagner would be funny for various reasons)

Maybe some off the wall ideas: Horford, Midds after a buy-out, Tyrus Jones, D'Angelo is only 29, CP still played 82 games last year/58%TS with lots of assists, Luke Kennard

Just spit balling but NAW, Trent, Horford, Paul. Just getting old as hell but maybe a little more grit?

I wonder how much Lonzo Ball or Jalen Suggs have left.

Ball is obviously in worse shape, but when healthy he is an all star caliber player.

Suggs is already an all star, but his chronic knee problems are a risk also. He's also beginning a 5 year contract, signed before his surgery.

I know that the last thing Bucks fans want is to take a chance on injured players. But their price may be pretty low for both guys. Suggs is obviously much better, but he may be available.

If I had to guess, I'd say Bobby, KPJ, Rollins, Sims are all back, Trent is gone, and Brook is back if and only if he takes a 75% pay cut. But I am open to the possibility that I think that's what happens only because that's what I'd do based on how I see the market shaking out.

We do need an innings eater type who can give us 1500-2000 minutes as a regular season big, but we absolutely can not afford to pay a guy like a starter if they're not going to be in the playoff rotation against more than half the teams we might face. Even if they are a starter and, independently, a good player.

Replacing Trent won't be "easy", but I think you have a lot of options on how to do it successfully, particularly given how small he is and how little he can do with the ball apart from shoot. A guy like Aaron Holiday probably has similar defensive versatility to Trent, is not much worse as a shooter, and can do a wider variety of things with the ball. Could be an option with part of the TPE if Houston would rather pay a minimum guy to play Holiday's spot minutes.

I was thinking of 2-ways in the draft thread. We should release Umude & Bouyea. They're not providing value. I'm on the fence about Nance. Was adequate & might lure Larry on the minimum.

But I think 2-3 of the existing 2-ways should be cleared out for new non-draftees. That should be the semi-yearly churn. You give a guy an extra year to develop if they're on a trajectory to usefulness, like Green & Rollins were.

Be funny if we brought back Midds, Holiday and washed up PJ tucker.

Lillard would actually be good to trade to Celtics. Have a punt year next year for them with Tatum out.

If we want a minutes eater at center, I’d revisit that Orlando fan proposal.

Bobby for Goga, Howard, and 2 2nds

The hold up for me is acquiring a floor spacing big. I’d pivot to the above trade if we managed to get Lauri.

Goga is a perfectly suitable rim protector, and then you take a flyer on a young player with pedigree who was touted as a great shooter with size coming into the league, but hasn't put it together yet.

the depth in this draft is really really really bad

not the year to be signing undrafted rookies to 2-ways

(unless mark sears somehow goes undrafted)

"washed up" could be moved in the front to cover all 3 guys

The things I would do for Ajax to develop one offensive move to help him get back out on the court. And maybe start buttering up Doc.

I'm really praying he proves me wrong, but having watched him since his high school days, I really don't think it's likely he's ever close to a neutral contributor on offense.

Happens to me every once in a while. If you have an ad blocker, sometimes you have to change settings. Another thing that helps is ctrl + shift + R to hard refresh the page.

Edit: You can also click on the "read on twitter" link that should go to the twitter page. Then just go back to previous page (which should be the realgm page) and just refresh the page again. Sometimes that works as well.

Bucks have been missing a big versatile (if not athletic) wing to flank Giannis since Khris declined.

Kuzma and Prince both consider themselves 4’s and it was always a bad idea to rely on them at the 3.

I’m less worried about our guard situation with Giannis returning to Point Center alongside AJ Green and whoever we keep out of Rollins/KPJ/Trent/Ajax.

And at the 5 Bobby is that much more viable if we don’t have a sieve in the background like Dame.

This team needs a real small forward.

Here is a dream offseason..

1. Grizzles spend all their cap space to renegotiate and extend JJJ. Bucks offer Aldama a starting job with the MLE, Memphis can’t match.

2. Minny spends big money to resign Reid and have no $$$ available for NAW. They settle with a s/t with Milwaukee. Bucks absorb NAW in the Midds TPE, Wolves get a couple of SRPs for facilitating.

3. Money is tight through the league and there is no market for both Trent and Porter. GTJ takes the BAE, KPJ justs opts in both with a handshake deal that they will get paid with Early Bird rights.

4. Rollins is tied in a team friendly multi year contract, Pat accepts the multiple minimum contracts route to help Bucks avoid the tax.

1. Giannis......... 54,126
2. Lillard.......... 54,126
3. Kuzma.......... 22,410
4. Portis........... 13,445 (opt in and extend)

Very good work.

Instead, Horst will extend Kuzma another two years.

I have my issues w/ this draft, but every 1 gets picked apart. And there are always guys who get lost in the shuffle. That's becoming increasingly true given all the kids compelled to stay in college cuz of NIL now. Their appeal fades as a 5-yr guy. But they arguably have the most value to us.

We got Green on a 2-way for 2022, the yr many rationalized there weren't good alternatives to Marjon in the 1st rd even. Give me 2-3 more cracks at that please, instead of Stan Umude, Jam Bouyea & maybe Pete Nance. Much rather take a crack at a fresh prospect like Peavy, Brea, Love, Sallis, Hawkins, yes Sears, etc. See if any have the goods & we've found our next Green, Rollins, GP2, etc.

BTW, I'd rather have 3 cracks at a 2-way rookie, than the 47th pick. Cuz that low it's about quantity, not quality. Instead of 1 15% shot, you have 3 10-15%'ers. And 2-ways aren't paid handsomely nor occupying roster spots. The 47th pick is what's throwaway.
