PS Vue Streaming Discontinued

Yep, hence I am here. After trying everything out, we landed on Vue and really worked well for the entire family and now, ****, need a plan B. Loved Hulu for a lot of reasons, but not interested in something that doesn't have a NFL Redzone option, it is literally my favor thing in Winter.

Given how much you love Red Zone this is probably a non-starter, but if you can live without it finding streams has never been easier. That said, I still pay for Hulu+ because I want the Bucks and Brewers and Packers and Badgers on the big screen so if you need that for Red Zone, I get it.

I could handle that if it had redzone...I think the tough thing is balancing what works for me and what works for the family. If Hulu just had access to redzone, would make my life a lot easier. May take the trial for Fubo and try it out...I suppose the good news is that Vue is still operating through the regular season. So, possible this is an issue that can wait to be resolved by next football season.

Fubo is missing out on the Disney owned properties like ESPN and ABC. Makes it a non-starter for me.

Looking to dump my DTV programming when my existing promo ends. I’ve heard good about Hulu & Youtube TV which is better or is there another I’m overlooking? In my home it’s myself, wife and 3 kids. We currently have DTV Hulu( 99 cent BF deal last year soon expiring) and will be subbing to Disney +. Likely will bundle Hulu/Disney/ESPN+ for 12.99 but still need a tv package various programs for family and mostly sports for myself. Packers/Bucks/Brewers and other various showings. Any recommendations based on past experiences?

Comes down to personal preference, I did the free week of both Hulu Live and YouTube TV, for me I much preferred YouTube TV, so I dumped Direct TV and 1 month in I am very happy with my choice. I would say do the free trial of both and make your decision, one more bit of advice with Direct TV, cancel right before your payment cycle, they do not refund, tried to cancel 3 days after my cycle and they made me pay for the whole month.

My current Samsung tv is 1 year too old to stream Disney plus. I don’t have a roku or fire stick etc, and don’t feel like running another cable through my wall to support another device. So stupid that Samsung limited their TVs to 2016 and up for streaming Disney. Mine was bought in 2016 for $2500 but is a 2015 model.

I don't know where you guys are at, but as an OG cord cutter around here a decade ago, I think I've about hit my boiling point. Right now I've got high speed internet, Netflix, Hulu Live, Amazon Prime Video with HBO and Starz, and today I tried out Disney+. It's likely I'm forgetting something. I'm spending so far beyond what I'd ever spent on cable. I don't really know what the solution is anymore, outside of going 100% streaming sites and torrents. My folks use some Spectrum or DTV solution for everything and they pay $200 a month.

Yup, that's why I switched to 100% illegal years ago. There isn't any kind of savings anymore in cable vs ala carte programming. My Nvidia Shield controls pretty much my entire home and I run everything through it. Only thing I pay for now is Private Internet Access, which is about $40/year and a RealDebrid account, which is roughly the same cost.

I share logins with as many people as I can. All I pay for is Hulu Live + Internet. I get Netflix from my wife's parents, anything on Charter from my parents, HBO from my friend and anything else I find a way to watch by other means. Considering Charter's non-intro price was around $160 in my area I'm saving almost $100/mo.

One thing I noticed Hulu Live does is they won't let you login at a different "location" more than 4 times. So you can't really share.

My current setup:
High Speed Internet - $50/month
Amazon Prime TV - Comes with a shared family Amazon Prime account (watch on big screen or laptop)
Hulu Live - Comes with a shared family account. (No "different" location issues since I am using laptop only)
HBO account - I pay $15 every six months (I will cancel after a one month sign up and binge watch new material that month)
NBA League Pass - $199/year (I offer my credentials to family+friends with no log-on issues).
NFL Sunday Ticket + Red Zone - $79/year (discounted since using a family member's .edu email as a log-on).

I feel like it is more than I need as I watch too much basketball/football as is. Shared log-ons are the key. I have friends that do illegal streaming and that obviously saves them a ton.

You could cut your costs a lot by rotating your premium subscriptions (Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Starz, etc.) rather than subbing to all of them at simultaneously. For example, watch everything you love on Netflix, then cancel it. Move on to HBO and do the same thing. As you exhaust everything you want to watch on one service, the others are replenishing their catalogs.

We do this with Netflix, Britbox, AcornTV, Amazon, and MHZ Choice, subbing only to one at a time. We sub to YoutubeTV seven months of the year for basketball, and pause it the other five months. We also have Crunchyroll as an ongoing service when we're not on Netflix or Amazon Video.

So it's sometimes Crunchyroll, just one other from the above list, and YoutubeTV for seven months of the year. It averages about $42 to $45 a month above the cost of internet.

I hear a lot of positives about Youtube tv but the exclusion of A&E (Hulu) has has me in a dilemma. The wife really enjoys A&E I can sacrifice some channels but this is perhaps her favorite.

How do you all get around not having NFL Network? Like for example 12/21 there will be 3 games on NFL Network, I’d love to watch but if I go with a streaming service I may not be able to.

Ghost Hunters & Live PD is what the wife enjoys on A&E. If there is another way to stream just that if a&e is not in package.

I had a 2013 Samsung tv that they started taking apps away from and stopped updating. That was enough for me to absolutely 100% not even consider them when I got my new tv last Christmas.

So I just picked up a google chromecast. The power is from a usb so I don’t have to string more wires through the walls. How does this thing work though? I download Disney plus on iPad and it shows up on tv? Sorry I’m completely new to streaming other than Netflix built into the tv

Bought a samsung a year ago and paid a pretty penny. Frankly, I don't think it really outperforms our $125 Roku TV. It's very glitchy, picture of dark scenes at night in movies is almost completely black and the sound leveling feature works for ****, so you are constantly adjusting the volume on different shows and different apps. Will not buy again, which is a shame, because that was a name I associated with Quality. Makes me think they are just being built cheap somewhere with the same parts as some **** brand and slapping the Samsung nameplate on at the end.

I was a hardcore Samsung guy especially when plasmas were the tech of the day but last TV I bought was a 60 inch TCL, just couldn't resist the price and 18 months in I've been pleasantly surprised with TCL no issues at all.

Oh and on an unrelated note I'm not surprised Vue is shutting down, I switched from YouTube TV because I wanted the redzone channel and oh my is Vue a steaming pile of poop from a speed and over all UI perspective. Really hope YouTube TV gets something worked out with the NFL by next football season.
