MKE out:
DJ Wilson - $2,961,120
Wesley Matthews - $2,564,753
Dragan Bender - $1,678,854
IND '20 1st
Total = $7,204,727 + $5M = $12,204,727

MKE in:
Robert Covington - $11,301,219
Naz Reid - $898,310
Total = $12,199,529

I don't like it. I don't want to give up the 1st for Covington. I also like Wilson & Bender more than most, so easy pass for me.

Not sure I love it either, but it's two non rotation players and a mid to late first for a versatile defender and spacer. It's a window is now kind of move.

Doesn't feel like there is an obvious (and workable move) out there that immediately raises the ceiling of this team. Decent chance someone out of the vet group (Korver, RoLo, Wes) elevates their game as the season moves on. And plausible one in the younger group (Donte, Sterling, Bender) make a leap as the season plays on.

I think that is likely actually. We'll get one from the vet group and one from the young guys group.

PP I agree with you. I could even see two of both vet and young guy groups stepping up and filling important roles.

I’d say Rolo and Korver from the vet group have the best chance I thought Wes would be a bunch better then he’s been. I watched a lot of Pacers games last year because of living in Bloomington and I enjoyed their style of play. But he’s been a major disappointment so far. Out of the young guy group I like both Donte and Sterling for obvious reasons. Getting a more solid and set rotation could really help these players and their roles being defined.
I don’t think it would work but I’d try a Khris, DJ and Wes package for the next real all star wing that’s wants out of their situation.
I also don’t really get the love DJ gets here. He looked unplayable and would be out if the league longer then a possible role player last year. Yeah, he had a good month but many other former Bucks draft picks and young guys have had that too. Moving him while he possibly has some value would be a pretty wise move.

DJ and Robin for Jae Crowder makes us better.

Philly may pull the trigger first, if they have some worthwhile asset to add along with Tobias.

What else are you thinking OKC would give us to swap Khash for CP?

Picks won’t help us win now but they could be relayed elsewhere of course. Even then I have a hard time seeing it though.

Philly is in a different situation since Tobias isn’t as good of a fit as Middleton is on the court, regardless of how overpaid he is.

Chris Paul would be a monumental risk for us in contrast considering what a boat anchor that contract is if he doesn’t work out and the tight timetable Giannis has for deciding whether to extend.

Trade is successful after Jan. 1.

In the bin labeled "Horrible trade ideas"?

I dont think some of you guys comprehend how bad this middleton deal is. Especially next year or the year after. it's an albatross not quite on the Gilbert Arenas level, but it's going to be damn close IMO. He isnt worth 100M over 5 much less 181. I think if you can get a quality player back plus and expiring you do it in a heart beat. Of course the Bucks wont admit they were wrong this soon by giving him this deal, but it will be too late come next summer to deal him. Declining performance and injuries will make him untradeable. By year three he is going to be a full-time anchor and joke on our bench.

If you trade him now, you also let DDV blossom into that role. While i dont think we can count on DDV yet, nor his ability to stay healthy, if you get a guy with some upside like Parker and the ability to dump about 25M/yr off the books, I think you gotta do it. Even if it isnt parker, ill take almost anyone to get Middleton of the books at that obscene amount.
Khris Middleton - Beating up on Trash Can Teams since 1943. Invisible Man status otherwise.

Dude he's a borderline allstar and the ideal player to have with Giannis, plays best when giannis is on the bench, and you think he isn't worth 20 million a year?

I'm as big of a Middleton hater as there is, and I have less than no problem with him on 5/100. That is just a terrible take.

Crowder hasn't been able to make 3s for years now. Wilson can do everything Crowder does if he played.

The deal does make us better though, because it gets RoLo off the team.

Remember when I repeatedly spoke out against adding RoLo last year? Bucks should have listened, he's been a corpse for a few years now.

Obviously agree on Robin, but if Wilson played with half of Crowder’s confidence & tenacity he’d have half as many DNPCDs through this point in his career. Crowder is stronger, plays bigger and with way more aggression. Better passer. He does hoist a bunch of threes at a stinky clip but for the 20ish minute role he’d have with the Bucks that’s less of a problem. Allows us to mix and match lineups and gives us a better shot to win games down the stretch that Giannis might be resting. Thriving in a the Bud-lite system that Taylor Jenkins runs in Memphis. Ideal situation for him to showcase as the main minutes vet for the first part of the season, extend his contract year in a deep playoff run with the Bucks.

Hill
Donte/Connaughton
Brown/Korver
Crowder
Ersan/Bender

Hell of a bench.

Wilson is not close to Crowder. He’s so soft and cares more about his look then his skills. I really don’t understand the love and praise he gets. JOB flashed more then Wilson has and where’s he now? I hope the Bucks don’t give him a second contact and there’s some gm that thinks like some of you do and he’s got some value in a trade.

That might be a bit extreme but saying Wilson is on the level of Crowder is too. He’s closer to JOB then he is Crowder. As far as NBA level talent. All this Wilson love is annoying and makes me dislike and devalue him even more.

Disliking something just because other people like it seems somewhat obtuse.
