I can't believe Doc and Horst are so high on Brook. I say trade him while you still can get something for him. He's just too slow and unplayable too much of the time, especially in the playoffs. Does anyone think that maybe Horst was BS'ing just to keep Brook happy, and was shopping him all over the place but nobody wanted to give us anything for him?

I believe he was being shopped but being over the 2nd apron made getting good value extremely difficult so yeah there's some damage control comming out.

That said a 7 footer rim protector that shoots 3's at a decent enough clip is gonna hold value in the league and acting like he's some scrub that no one wants is kinda asinine

There was a similar puff piece or quote about Jrue holiday last year in the off season and he was traded. I don't think this means Brook is off the table, but they are making it clear that he is extremely valuable. If there is a route to a player the bucks like and brook has to be part of that package, i do not doubt they would include brook. I just don't think they're looking to unload him for a draft pick, lower themselves under the 2nd apron, or to try and get younger. I think they're goal and only goal is a championship with this roster.. whether they're healthy enough, will be the question.

Horst is just stating the obvious. They can't trade Lopez.

The problem with trading Brook is and always will be there's no obvious replacement. If he holds value because he's a rim protecting seven footer who shoots threes and you trade him, now you're down a rim protecting seven footer who shoots threes.

Sure, those are his good traits, now list his bad traits. He's a massive liability to transition defense, forcing the Bucks to game plan and limit where his is on the floor offensively. He get absolutely lit up from the 3 point line come playoff time consistently. He's too slow to be a threat as a roll man. He refuses to post up. He's not switchable.

Versus the Pacers, the Bucks were 20 points/100 worse defensively with Brook on the floor.

That number becomes even more awestriking when you realize Bobby Portis was the center when Brook sat.

If the Bucks defense can put up a 106 defensivee rating versus the high powered Pacers offense with out Giannis, and Portis at center, then I dont think it will be a difficult task to find an actual center (not Portis) to replace Brook.

No one gives a **** about a few games versus the Pacers without the Bucks best player.

Brook was one of the only players holding down for stretches. He still holds down the paint & boxes out. Puts the ball in the basket.

The weakest link was Malik, not Brook.

This article reminds me of the idiot in the Celtics jersey I sat behind during There’s Something About Mary who kept whisper-warning everyone about the Brett Favre cameo. Dude, we know this isn’t his best moment. At least we won’t see Drew Bledsoe up there.

Demi Moore as a powerhouse within the greater powerhouse? meh.

This article is a pre-emptive strike against the inevitable linking of the 2024 Celtics with Shakespeare in Love. Sure there was some star power, and they did get the trophy - in a down year for competition. Let’s be real though, 26 years later, nobody's except maybe Gwen about transcendence.

So, to fit into the new style of post on here…

Dear Dame, Giannis, Khris, and Brook,

Did you see what that wanna-be Kevin Spacey freak Bill Simmons? He’s saying you all are crappy actors who got paid and then time passed you by. Angela Bassett and Meg Ryan.

But that’s not what I see when I look at you. I don’t see a Winona Ryder in any one of you, even squinting.

Because when I squint, even just little bit, I see are true conquering heroes. Disney Princess Heroes. And not the old school ones, I mean new Disney Princesses, strong and independent, princesses that haven’t even been invented yet. Princesses that will be developed 10 years from now based on what you do these next 11 months.

Yeah, when I squint, I see the Jordan/Pippen Bulls, the Russell Celtics, the 1927 Yankees. I see Cinderella.

I’ll be rooting for you.

Respect,
Vasquectomy

The great news is that by signing the three free agent dudes we did, we have zero pressure to make a bad deal for the sake of making one.

If you want Bobby or Brook, you need to pay up and it’s got to be a decent upgrade at a position of need.

Kinda criminal that we haven't tried to find a Brook replacement yet. Or at least someone who can fill in and give him off nights. Dude is 36 years old.

were like 9 deep....at least.... with a bunch of young upside we can bitch about this and that and how crummy or good they are. but if somehow this team stalls out it goes back to the core 2-3 guys. thats how it is and always should be. the depth is there tho. heck we may even be the deepest team in the league as presently constructed. stay healthy and we can all see whats up end of story

giannis - tatum
dame - brown
middleton - jrue
gtj/prince/green - white
lopez - porzingas
portis - horford
wright - pritchard
patc - hauser

deep bench and youthful talent maybe some breakout stars who knows but i'll take our guys

if we **** up its not going to be talent. its going to be health or chemistry or both

Brook has been an iron man the last 2 years, 78 and 79 games, 30.4 and 30.5 MPG. But I'd like to see that cut back to 70-75. His game is far different than the others but he'll be 37 when the playoffs start.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Brook should've been shopped in 2022. Very good player and person for this team but when the better teams go small it's death by a thousand cuts with drop defense. No shame in quietly exploring options this season.

wanting to get rid of brook so that we can play small is dumb as hell

we already have the best small-ball 5 in the league

and sometimes you need a big-ball 5, even in today's game

Look im on the fence about brook you all whine n bitch about not trading him yet mo one has any decent trades that eoukd bring back someone to plsy center.its always some scrub or some guy who doesnt even play center.
Horst said he took calls but he also said hes not trading brook without getting someone who can play center coming back.Apparently he never got those offers.

I’m just wondering how our 8 man playoff rotation stacks up against the East.

Dame/Trent/Khris/Giannis/Brook
Bobby/Delon/Prince

Jrue/White/Brown/Tatum/Kp
Horford/Hauser/Pritchard

Garland/Mitchell/Strus/Mobley/Allen
LaVert/Niang/Wade

Brunson/Bridges/OG/Randle/Robinson
Hart/DDV/Payne

Suggs/KCP/Franz/Paolo/WCjr
Isaac/Anthony/Mo Wagner

Maxey/Martin/Oubre/PG/Embiid
Jackson/Gordon/Drummond

Halibuton/Nembhard/Nesmith/Siakim/Turner
McConnell/Toppin/Mathurin

Rozier/Jasquez/Butler/Highsmith/Bam
Herro/Robinson/Love

It’s really insane how strong all 8 of those rotations are but I love our chances coming out of the East and how we stack up. It’s gonna be a blood bath next season.

Frank Nova .... I saw what you did with the Knicks there ... Robinson ain't starting neither closes games with em. Randle is their Center and Hart starts at SG ... no way Hart and Donte are both benched.

Brunson/Hart/Bridges/Anunoby/Randle
DDV, Robinson,Payne

This looks way more scary.
