Maybe a 4 team deal with Was

Bucks - Out- Connaughton, '31 1st rd
Bucks - In - Aldama

Grizz - Out - Smart, Konchar, future 2nd
Grizz - In - Brogdon, Connaughton

Wiz - Out - Brogdon
Wiz - In - Smart, Konchar Bucks 1st, Grizz 2nd

The Grizz picks up a better veteran combo guard/Wing and get cap relief from Smart and Konchar deal while not having to lose a 1st rd pick. Plus, G.G. Jackson is coming back soon to possibly eat some of Santi's minutes at PF and Edey will get some of his C minutes.

Big yes on Aldama! 23-year-old mobile big averaging 13-8-3 on 53-38-77 shooting splits. Can be the de facto BroLo replacement assuming we move Giannis at the 5 and revert to a switch-heavy scheme. His contract situation suggests he's a realistic target.

Pat + 2031 2nd for Olynyk

Olynyk/Portis
Giannis/Prince
Middleton/Ajax
Dort/Green/GTJ
Dame/Wright
still learning the game

Dort and Aldama would be a dream trade deadline! Highly doubt the Thunder are desperate enough to trade 25-year-old Dort for 36-year-old Brook. They are playing great thus far. No need for panic short-sighted moves.

People ready to ditch our future first round pick in 31 because..."horst will pick up some crappy guy"...

Did you ever consider Horst may not be with the team by then?

What if Fotis dream comes true and becomes the GM and we get to pick based on realgm polls?

The train of thought for most (I think-- at least for me) is that Horst will 100% try to use that pick to improve this team right now, future be damned. Exactly because he sure as **** won't be here in 2031.

Cam Johnson turns 29 in March.

He’s a decent player but not worth the 2031 first.

Right now he’s green lit on a crappy Nets team. He’s a role player with us.

Just an idea. I have been led to believe Brooklyn is asking two 1sts for Cam. It is difficult to get him here within new CBA constraints, so that was my main objective.

He's a bit more than a role player, though. Lethal shooter, not just a C&S guy, can create some. Long, smart defender, albeit not athletic.

He was a walking hospital unit. That's always been the rap on him, and why he hasn't scored a max or near max contract.

My concern too -- especially since he's 28 which is when big men often start to mummify.

Definitely seems like the Pacers are looking to do something but I'm also not sure it'll be with Turner.

Carlisle's quotes make it sound like they could just as easily be buyers:

The Pacers have been linked to several veteran centers, and the recent waiving of backup big man Moses Brown opened up a roster spot and roughly $2 million in salary space, making a move (big or small) much easier. On Tuesday, head coach Rick Carlisle didn't hide the Pacers' intentions.

"December 15th is getting here somewhat soon. I think there's no secret that that's a day where there's going to be some activity around the league beginning," he said. "And if tangible deals happen on the 15th, there's going to be a lot more talk happening around the league. I don't know if that means anything for us necessarily, but that's a significant date."

Usually, when asked about the possibility of a trade, coaches give boilerplate "that's up to the front office" or "we're working with the roster we have" answers.

The concern about Myles Turner health are legitimate and is probably why he hasn't been more coveted. I love his skillset, but wish he was a little more nasty or all-in.

I didn’t realize just how bad Trey Lyles has been for the Kings. He’s shooting 36% for 5 pts and 4 boards in 18 games this season.

Bobby for Keon and Lyles works straight up contractually.

Bucks would shave a few million in that scenario.

Ideally Lyles goes elsewhere for a piece that’d help us. But maybe we don’t make that a pre-requisite if he’s a dead salary ending contract at this point.

My train of thought is more about *when* you spend the value of that 2031 pick. If it has real value to other teams, then the answer to me is clearly now. So everything I propose represents the kind of value I'd need to make it happen. I frankly don't see how a pick seven years away could have the kind of value it'd take for me to move it, but there are a lot of degenerate gamblers out there.

Obviously I wouldn't move it for some aging stop-gap type like McConnell. My bet is that we partially trade it (as a protected swap) with Pat for somebody along those lines.

Last year, the Bucks explored trading 2nd swap rights on their existing 1sts. OKC eventually traded a 1st for 2nd swap rights on a Dallas pick. I'm guessing we didn't do this simply because all the guys we were interested in (Herb Jones, Dejounte Murray) were pulled off the market.

I wonder if we explore this again. The teams that have our swap rights, New Orleans and Portland, presently suck.

Because he'd trade them for 3rd round picks?

That's a year younger than Giannis. So he fits the timeline.

And he has a sick 65.2 ts%. It's better than Giannis'. Not a guy just getting shots up on a bad team. Here he'd have Giannis' gravity.

The Bucks will be a crappy team outside Giannis in a couple years.

Maybe the logical conclusion at this point is that Paul Reed isn’t a good NBA player?
