Nice work by Joe Dumars making Zion the face of the franchise at the lottery…

Makes it less likely for our 2026 swap with them to be a point of concern too.

In addition to the rape allegations, the lawsuit details accusations of strangulation "with such force that she reasonably feared for her life and eventually lost consciousness multiple times." The woman also accuses Williamson of entering her apartment without consent and stealing her belongings.

The lawsuit accuses Williamson of "threatening to kill" the woman and her family members multiple times.

Zion setting fire to any trade value he theoretically had aside, maybe Horst calls his former boss’s boss to try and pick up Herb Jones or the like:

There are no untouchables in New Orleans. League sources say the Pelicans are gauging the market for everyone on their roster. They very well could end up keeping their core pieces, but it appears the Pelicans are looking into taking different paths this summer depending on what opportunities become available.

But I think 2-3 of the existing 2-ways should be cleared out for new non-draftees. That should be the semi-yearly churn. You give a guy an extra year to develop if they're on a trajectory to usefulness, like Green & Rollins were.

the depth in this draft is really really really bad

not the year to be signing undrafted rookies to 2-ways

(unless mark sears somehow goes undrafted)

I have my issues w/ this draft, but every 1 gets picked apart. And there are always guys who get lost in the shuffle. That's becoming increasingly true given all the kids compelled to stay in college cuz of NIL now. Their appeal fades as a 5-yr guy. But they arguably have the most value to us.

We got Green on a 2-way for 2022, the yr many rationalized there weren't good alternatives to Marjon in the 1st rd even. Give me 2-3 more cracks at that please, instead of Stan Umude, Jam Bouyea & maybe Pete Nance. Much rather take a crack at a fresh prospect like Peavy, Brea, Love, Sallis, Hawkins, yes Sears, etc. See if any have the goods & we've found our next Green, Rollins, GP2, etc.

BTW, I'd rather have 3 cracks at a 2-way rookie, than the 47th pick. Cuz that low it's about quantity, not quality. Instead of 1 15% shot, you have 3 10-15%'ers. And 2-ways aren't paid handsomely nor occupying roster spots. The 47th pick is what's throwaway.

The 47th pick can also be a 2 way guy.

I don't think the draft is particularly shallow. It's bad in what should be the meatiest part, the first half of the first round (outside Flagg). Rest of it is pretty normal. Plenty of guys worthy of an opportunity.

The international class being totally devoid of any top talent is probably the biggest culprit.

If Green is gonna test free agency next year, any chance we’d sell on him now? One of the best shooters in the league who is passable on D making near minimum. What kind of value does he have?

I don’t know what the **** this metric is but Doc going away from our best perimeter defender in favor of KPJ and Prince is egregious.

Landing on Prince/Kuz as your starting 2/3 in general is egregious. It's either absolute ineptitude or trying to throw games.

Jim O’s baffled about Ajax too:

Man, Eric Nehm and I asked Doc about this all second half the season and Doc would just not say - but he clearly didn't like AJJ. As soon as KPJ was traded for, that was it for Andre. Based on what little Doc said, and his actions, is that he felt Andre's lack of offense totally offset any defensive uptick he brought to the team.

Wish Andre would work with a shooting coach in the offseason and completely rebuild his shot, that and finishing off the dribble in traffic.

If the national media on Giannis value is to be trusted, Green, the 31 pick and Dame should get the Bucks Jokic

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

Ajax actually shot better than anyone expected. He shouldn’t have outright been cut from the rotation. Despite his limitations, he certainly was no worse than what someone like TP provided by the end of the year.

Ajax is awful on offence. It’s 4 on 5 out there when he’s playing. Good defender and all but the days of the defensive stoppers like Tony Allen having a place in a team are well and truly passed.

I've had Andre blowing up on his next team. :-? As a lockdown defender.

Feel like you should adjust the metric if those are the results.

Just cuz you defend really good offensive players, doesn't inherently make you a really good defensive player. His d-rating was pretty middling on the Bucks - 112.1 The prior year it was downright the worst on the team. He's not as good of an overall defender as Rollins & Green.

Then there's the offense. What may be the biggest hole on the roster is a 6'6-6'7 wing who can shoot decently, genuinely defend, rebound sufficiently, & offers a bit off the bounce. That guy ought to replace Ajax, who gives us false hope in the role.

Bucks should look into seeing if they can get Cabocolo. Why didn't he sign with GSW last summer?

Ajax will just be starting his third season.

I haven’t given up on him.

He needs to decrease the defensive lapses, finish at least a bit better in traffic, and keep working on his shot.

Bucks absolutely could use a hyper athletic wing. Idk what happened where Doc went from force feeding him minutes over GTJ and everyone else to being glued to the end of the bench but hopefully he earns another shot.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
