The San Antonio Spurs have made Tiago Splitter available in trade talks as they look to clear cap space. The Spurs have strong interest in signing LaMarcus Aldridge to a max contract.

Not exactly sure what everyone wants/expects. Ownership/management broke up a hot team mid-season in a move that was ONLY about the future.

I don't see how trading a 23 year old flawed PG for a 23 year old flawed PG is making a move for the future.

Well, one is about to sign his name to a $70 million contract and the other is under a rookie deal. So if you can't see the difference I can't help you.

Wade is looking for 3 years at 16mil per. I don't know what kind of center that leaves us with.

It's cool to think about how Wade would excite Milwaukee and provide coaching, like a K-Mart for the guards. But K-Mart didn't cost 16 mil per year.

If we're able to deal Bayless and Mayo (and Vazquez?), then, hmmmmm

It is because we were winning plenty of games at the time but we weren't sold on him as the pg of the FUTURE and we didn't want to pay him the big bucks in the offseason as a result. So we exchanged him for a pg who they knew may not have worked out as well in the interim, but maybe better in the long run, and at least we didn't have to pay him for a couple more years. That is the one move at least that was owning the future.

And at some point mantras should change with circumstances. It applied at the time. But we acquired Jabari and MCW to go along with Giannis and Middleton. Now it can be get up and go.

If this type of scenario played out, the only way would be Kidd and Wade convincing a vet (Chandler?) to take less $. Then you keep Mids without paying the tax, and use MCW as a trade chip to fill out the roster. Not likely.

I love Wade, always have, but his injuries, price tag and age scare the crap out of me. I try talking myself out of signing him, but then I come back to how much he could mentor our young guys, get a winning culture developed and help get this Arena deal done. If we sign him at the cost of not signing a decent center, then I am against it, but if we had any chance at him/C and Midds, then I really can't say I'd hate it.

K-Mart wasn't still second in the NBA in PER at his position. Actually he never was.

As far as what kind of center that leaves us, it can be a really good one if we work out a sign and trade for Wade. The Heat may not want to facilitate a move, but if he wants to go they kind of owe it to him at this point, and they could use the value in return. When you look at their roster, guys like MCW, Henson, and even Mayo could be of value depending on their goals. Then if they accommodated this, we'd have enough space for Chandler or any sub max center who wanted to come here,

Chandler/Wade + Midds resigning would go a long ways in changing the culture and creating a lot of good publicity over the next few months when it matters most.

Charlotte fans unanimously ticked about losing Biyombo like this. Interesting read from people who watch him all the time. Seems like a polarizing player down there in regards to how good he'll eventually become, but nearly veryone agrees he was by far the team's best interior defender/rebounder & letting him way for nothing was bas asset management by Hornets front office.

You probably could have landed Baynes and Biyombo for a million or two more than the amount to be paid to Vasquez this season. If Baynes could teach Biyombo to be half as physically destructive as he is that'd be a hell of a bruiser combo.

It must suck so much ass to be a Hornets fan right now. But if them suffering means we get Biyombo cheap, so be it.
