Really looking forward to Cleveland making a win now move with that pick and still losing to Golden State. Then Lebron deciding he wants one more year in Cleveland and we get 5 straight Cleveland vs Warriors finals.

Re: ATL - Kyrie trade - Cav's approve trade - pg 35
This Cavs season is going to be fascinating to watch. Without a doubt the two biggest trade pieces they have are Love and that Brooklyn pick. Trading Love doesn't make a ton of sense because I don't know who you target that makes a much bigger impact. But that pick? It's going to be the #1 source of discussion from now until LeBron leaves. What Cleveland does with it will tell you everything you need to know about how they feel their chances are of winning the Finals and/or keeping LeBron.
If Cleveland has hopes that they can either win the title or entice LeBron to stay next summer, that pick is as good as gone. Not a chance in hell they don't trade it. They could pick up a legitimate impact player(s). If LeBron leaves, the Cavs can say they did everything possible to keep him, and LeBron looks like the bad guy (inasmuch as he could be; he won them a ring).
But if they keep the pick and LeBron leaves, Gilbert will unfairly be made a piñata. LeBron's camp will point to the pick and say Cleveland didn't do enough to surround him with the best possible talent. I think that's BS because he's gone either way, but it'll be LeBron's way to save face and put it on Gilbert.

Obviously it would still leave them weak at G, but who cares, the only matchup that matters is GSW. Their best win now beat GSW move could be to see how the OKC situation works out and trade that pick for George. Of course you'd want some agreement both he and LBJ will stay, but to beat GSW that would probably be the only move they could make that would give them a legit shot. Play a JR, Crowder, PG, LBJ, Love lineup at crunch time.

Feel like Boston and Cleveland got worse with this trade. Bucks need to focus on improvement throughout the year and we could finally see some meaningful postseason ball this year.

We're going to take the next step with or without Kyrie. We're going to be really good this year.
That's been said every off season after coming off making the playoffs. Trading for a known all-star level talent like Kyrie would've been huge for franchise.

Doesn't Cavs need a PG if IT is out for most of the season?

Ah, so you favor former top-3 pick/filet-o-fish enthusiast Deron Williams for the starting spot. Bold move, but not without precedent.

Prior to the Boston trade, I didn't think acquiring PG would elevate the Cavs as much as most. But ****, that lineup is stacked and might just do it.
I imagine JR would be guarding Steph and you could be asking for trouble there. I tend to think when he's he engaged and motivated by being on the big stage though that JR exerts sufficient effort.
JR-Steph
PG-Klay
Crowder-Durant
Love-Iggy
LeBron-Draymond
And if IT is able to play by this time that's like an added bonus now. I would have no qualms with watching this Finals again if we got these matchups.

Exactly. Since getting to Cle JR has been one of their hardest playing guys on D, to my eye test anyway. Even in the regular season I remember watching and being dumbfounded that JR Smith was the only guy on the floor trying on D and he was lighting up his teammates for not getting back on D. Playoffs of course everyone tries on D except Kyrie, Love is just physically limited but he tries.
And besides those head to head matchups you list. All guys can competently switch on D with each other except Love. I'd assume Shumpert would get traded back to help salaries with PG so he'd be gone. But you'd have guys like Rose, IT, Thompson, Korver, Frye to come in instead of Love if he can't hang in that matchup or during other times of the game.
IDK, I think that's the closest any team could get to GSW. I still pick GSW, especially since I'd assume GSW has home court. Maybe if PG went to Houston that would be close too.

Possibly, or........
Really looking forward to Cleveland making a win now move with that pick to a team out West (Gasol or Conley?) and still losing to Golden State. Then Lebron deciding to leave and watching New Jersey, Boston, AND Cleveland trade away Michael Porter Jr. (the next Anthony Davis, Lebron, Durant talent), Bagley, Ayton, or Bamba.

Lakers get a 500k fine for Paul George tampering. This will make them think twice before contacting a player who would be worth more to the franchise by a factor of 400.

Not sure how the Bucks are ever going to find a second star, who isn't in his 30's and on the way down....seems to me the plan is all in on Jabari and then take your chances on an aging star who's better years are behind them....won't get you a championship but could put you in line with some of the 80's teams.....then again Giannis will be out of here so fast because you could never build around him.

I am definitely interested in floating something Cleveland's way for Love.
Not sure what, but I've felt from the get-go that he was the odd man out and not a good fit for that team.

Derrick Rose starting with no decent backup until IT comes back would be hilarious for a team claiming to be trying to entice Lebron to stay.
But I think Cleveland makes some other move.
It doesn't make sense to have such a rancid PG situation while running with Lebron + Love + Crowder at the 3/4 and JR Smith + Shumpert + Korver at 2/3.

It almost encourages tampering.
