Not really sure how the two-way contracts work exactly, but Spotrac is saying he's technically a restricted free agent this offseason. If so, Tremont Waters might be an interesting guy to add to the end of the roster. I liked him a lot in high school and have continued to like him in college and the G-League. Probably too small to ever be all that valuable, but might be worth a dart throw.

Kevin Love’s contract is obviously really bad, he’s an injury risk and defensively flawed. But if we bet on the boost he’d get from leaving a miserable workplace to an environment consistently lauded as one of the best in the league under Bud, get him working with Suki to stay healthy... I could maybe talk myself into it. Giannis/Lopez/Love is a pretty damn good way to fill the 4/5 positions. Spacing, outlet touchdown passes to Giannis.
Bucks: Kevin Love
Knicks: Bledsoe, Wilson
Cavs: Bobby Portis, French Frank, Ersan
Cleveland might even throw in some picks to help grease the skids.

Not really familiar with Waters but if his two-way expires he's hitting RFA if the QO is extended.
That's why I don't love the current two-ways. RFA comes too early for players coming out early so there's not enough motivation for teams to develope them. The way the current two-ways are constructed you want to give them to 23+ year borderline NBA players and not 19 year old raw prospects.

I don't know how to view Oladipo anymore. He's 28, has essentially had one season in his career where he was even remotely "star" level, and it seems like people treat it like some inevitability that he'll eventually get there again. Is he a core championship piece the next few years, or was 2017-18 essentially his 2009 Devin Harris fluke season? based on what he looked like even before the injury, I'm leaning towards the latter.

I don't necessarily think his season was a fluke but I also don't think he'll be able to get back to that level. Do not want.

Depends on the price. If you have to trade for like he is that level of recent moved stars like PG/Butler then you pass for sure. If you're getting at a lower price well that's a bit different. I mean, obviously you'd take him over Bledsoe.
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.

I hope the Celtics have buyers remorse on Kemba and trade him for CP3 and we can snatch him up for cheap.

Sure but I wouldn't want him on a max contract. And that's what he's demanding from Indiana.

Yeah, can't imagine his value is very high. Consecutive injury-riddled seasons, dwindling efficiency and little long-term value with his expiring contract. I'd throw Bled, RoLo and DJ Indy's way, but that's it.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - OFF SEASON EDITION
I wonder if he's disgruntled specifically because he didn't like the way his injuries have been handled. I could see us potentially pursuing if they let us have access to his medicals and we think we can work with them. That said is it bizarre to me that every discussion of Oladipo I've seen has barely mentioned the fact that he's missed most of two years and looked more than rusty when he came back. I saw a Boston article talking about sending out Hayward and a bunch of picks, and mentioned *Hayward's* injury history. Hayward looked like the better player this year!

I like the idea of Dipo from a risk/reward standpoint. He looked pretty meh, is always sidelined, and is about to get paid so their asking price can't be that high. I'd explore it, the ceiling on that move is pretty high.

A lot of teams will explore it and at least one team will think one team will think he's an all-star for cheap (and maybe that's even true). Imo he'll bring significant positive value. We'd be foolish not to do due dilligence, but I really wouldn't want to be the team overpaying for him.

I think this is a move that makes a lot of sense...basically super Marvin Williams. I have been reluctant to play Giannis at the 5, but seems to me he is more than physically capable to handle the load most nights. Keep a Lopez around for the nights you are playing against traditional bigs.
Weirdly, I could see a scenario where you add Love and Chris Paul and don't really pay all that much. Not that I am advocating for Paul just something I could see happening;
Paul
Wes
Middleton
Love
Giannis

I'm all about risks but Dipo to me seems like a much bigger risk than a guy like CP3. Just as much of a chance that he's cooked at 28 as Paul will be sometime in the next 2-3 years.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - OFF SEASON EDITION
Oladipo seems like the type of move that someone like Phoenix would make, where the stakes aren't all that high if you miss on him but you might luck into a really good player that you can sign with bird rights if it works out.
One issue though is there's pretty wide speculation that he's fixated on ending up in Miami; that could end up driving the price on him down even more as it seems like it might be similar to the Kawhi-Spurs situation except Oladipo is only a fringe all-star type if that whereas Kawhi was a legitimate star.
I'd understand if we did make a move for him but he isn't near the top of my list personally.

That is a lot of firepower, for a year or two anyway. I don't immediately see the mechanics of it.

Yeah, to be fair, I didn't consider the logistics of making that happen because it is just so much massive salary. I'd assume you are trading everything not named Giannis and Middleton to make it work, and then I am not even positive it works.
