Young talent playing well in Europe.....Greg Berhalter just can't figure it out.

That was maybe the most entertaining set of tennis I've seen this year.

Yeah imagine that, dude got fired from a C or D level euro league for not knowing how to produce offense, and we cant produce any offense. Better to just cut him loose after wednesday barring a miracle win.

Re: OT: General OT Thread [NO POLITICS OR RELIGION]
Have a 2018 Chevy and only one key fob. With a toddler at home who has discovered how cool it is dropping things in the trash and garbage, I'm days away from a disaster so deciding to get another key. Thought it would be worth getting remote start but the kit alone is 310 and probably $500 after additional key and service.
Anyone have better options? Just seems crazy high for essentially a computer code and new fob. Then again, can't complain too much considering what's happening with kia and hyundai.

I was more wondering (to use MDs example):
Phone screening with recruiter mentions 10K-20K. I am offered 15K. Is it bad practice to counter and say I’d be much more comfortable in the range of 20K-23K?
If you ask for more than their stated range it's less likely you'll get it but I still don't think they'd rescind the offer.
Some companies have very strict salary ranges while others have more flexibility.
Everyone talks about salary negotiation but sometimes you can negotiate on benefits. Asking for a an extra week of vacation or extra personal days. If they shut you down from more salary you could go this route.
As long as you aren't a dick about it, it doesn't hurt to ask. But if you are a dick they could rescind, figuring you will probably start looking for another job as soon as you start this one.
I sent a counter offer and now just waiting to hear back. The waiting is absolutely painful.

Desperately wanted Tiafoe to win that one, it would be so great for American tennis if he could take the next step.

Also this US Open has been absolute dynamite. Incredible matches pretty much every day, men's and women's. Young players making names for themselves has been cool to see. I know some people are superfans of a specific player but to me this is all the proof needed that tennis will be fine without Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Serena etc. They probably won't be all time greats, but the sport will create new stars, just like any other sport.

Αll this talk about basketball stars signature shoes made me think it's unfair that common mortals can't have signature footware.
So I made a pair for my 10 year old daughter
Drafted a simple design LOL

sole sandwich pieces cut (I had a sheet of Vibram sole material, same as Timberland uses)

Measuring/testing (Chromexcel leather for the top, just because I can, full grain veg tan everywhere else)

(yes I did make the hammer and the awl myself, I'm a maniac)
Personalisation

Construction

(yes I did make this maul years ago)

End result. Not too bad for the first time making footware

Re: OT: General OT Thread [NO POLITICS OR RELIGION]
I had a Volvo with one fob and I tore apart the house looking for it. I finally broke down and dropped the $425 for two new ones (the second is relatively cheap). 30 min later my wife found the keys in my 2 year old son's cement mixer. I was able to cancel the order.MartyConlonOnTheRun wrote:Have a 2018 Chevy and only one key fob. Find a place the toddler can't get to and leave them there. The flip side is my car was dying and only worth a few thousand bucks at that time so 400+ seemed egregious. If you are gonna have this one for a while you might as well bite the bullet. Also, I did manage to program one for my wife's car. Really depends. If it's a key and a fob you are probably out of luck. If it's just the fob you may have options.

They won't qualify with him leading the way

Making everything fantasy football related under a paywall is annoying AF. Rotoworld used to be great, even Matthew Berry on ESPN had some decent pieces, but now everything costs money and I refuse to do it.
