Wendell Carter would be the ideal Brook replacement. A center who has the speed and agility to not get us killed come playoff time, and can also shoot the 3 a little, plus attack closeouts.

I think Bamba could develop fine as a hedge/recover C as well as playing the drop against weaker teams. I purposely watched a lot of his highlights and he's athletic enough to contest perimeter shooters (even blocking some). Dude blocks shots, rebounds and is actually a long-range threat (38% from 3) as opposed to Brook who is a perceived one. Ideally the Bucks keep and extend Bobby as the guy who plays more during crunch-time. But I think Bamba would look really good (as does pretty much everyone) playing next to Gianni. And he only just turned 24.

I like Wendell Carter but Bamba is a much better defender and floor spacer. And I think he has more unlocked potential.

Carter is the far better defender because he can hedge and switch, he has quick feet and a huge wingspan. He makes their defense better.

Orlando was worse defensively with Bamba on this past season because Mo forces them to play the drop, which gets bombed from 3 in today's NBA. Bamba is a better offensively than defensively.

If Bamba can get his foul rate under control there’s no reason he can’t be better than Lopez this season. He’s a better shooter, can rebound and is an insane vertical athlete. He’s primed to breakout with the right team. I really hope it’s the Bucks.

Bogdan's agent spilled the beans to get Bogdan more money, and it worked.

Perhaps it's time to have a chat with his agent..

I thought the deal was we worked out compensation that Sac agreed to but we ended sending extra salary out in a different trade which meant we had less we were allowed to offer Bog. So they shopped ATL who was able to give him like 4M more a year then we were legally allowed to offer. No harm no foul as far as I am concerned, it ended up being a massive difference

Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Sign and Trade deals hardcap teams at the salary apron, and we're over the apron.

I know you know this, but to clarify for anyone else, the hard cap applies only to the team receiving the signed and traded player. The Bucks could still for example send Bobby out in a S&T (not that they would in this particular case).

Eta: Thanks to Luessi for pointing out that I "clarified" this by saying the opposite of what I meant (fixed now).

Just to add to that, technically we could drop salary to drop below the apron, but we're so far above it that it wouldn't make sense. The last example I can remember is when GS got D Russel in a S&T for Durant, but had to dump Iggy in the process (to dip below the apron).

He would*

To make Bamba a RFA the Magic would have to offer him the QO, which is a 1 year deal with a no trade clause with a salary of $10,096,703. Imo that's far above market value and Bamba would be wise to just take it.

You think the Bucks are interested in him? I would be but they probably figure "we have Brook anyway."

I think the Bucks are certainly looking at potential Lopez replacements down the line and to me Bamba would fit the bill (probably to the Bucks, too).

Horst also commented in regards to the Ibaka trade that for the POs we ended up with one center too many and one wing too few. We've drafted a wing, but we can't assume we've adressed the problem. Assuming everyone who matters is back (Bobby, Wes, Carter) we're still probably short one wing (who knows if Wes can still play?) so that's probably the first priority we're looking to adress. If that problem is adressed, the next two priorities are probably backup guard (maybe Carter) and backup center.

With that said, we're probably looking to use the tax MLE for a wing or a real difference maker first. If we can't find one or can adress the backup wing with a minimum/trade, we'll probably look into offering Bamba the tax MLE (one among many other targets). Wether that will end up being enough idk. For example I'd want at least two years so we'd have early bird rights to retain him and I think that's unlikely to be the best monetary offer. All in all I think Bamba to Milwaukee is highly speculative and only happens if he has no market.

https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-rumors-paolo-banchero-deandre-ayton-jalen-brunson-tyus-jones-vasilije-micic/

Vasilije Micic, the EuroLeague 2021 MVP and back-to-back Final Four MVP winner, would like to play in the NBA this upcoming season and land with a playoff-caliber team.

The Oklahoma City Thunder own Micic’s rights, but he’s reportedly drawn interest from the Bucks, Bulls, Nuggets, and Spurs.

Micic is seeking a salary close to the non-taxpayer mid-level exception if he’s going to play in the NBA next season, league sources told HoopsHype.

For example idk if it would be a good investment, but we could trade for Micic's rights and then sign him to the tax MLE (he wouldn't be in any position to ask for more realistically). No idea if it's worth it, but that's what we should ask ourselves if we're talking about Bamba.

I definitely did mean receiving. Simply a legendary clarification by me.

Pretty sure we signed Mamu to a 2 year 2way

AJ Green signed a two way, but I think they can remove that at any time.

Correct. My point was I believe both are 2 ways are filled now, which that link doesn't state

That said, he’s still a restricted free agent. Wonder what Orlando’s play is going to be here. Would love the Bucks to take a flyer with a TPMLE offer, but think Orlando matches.

And then tell him he has to pick a new number? LOL, harsh indeed.
