I admittedly don't understand this faith in Wiggins. Would obviously flip Kuzma for him in a heartbeat, but absolutely hell no to throwing in a future 1st or pick swap. Dude was absolute cheeks in the playoffs, and really always has been outside of that one mythical run with Golden State that everyone always references when they wanna try and talk themselves into him as a winning core player again (*insert Tobias "it might work for us" meme*).

Kuz should probably be Dallas Shawn Marion

Well sure. But I think its a stretch to assume someone is just going to get 80% better on defense. Or stand in the corner on offense, when he’s shown he thinks he’s an elite creator.

Marion guarded 3’s and 4’s and hounded any pick and roll attempt. Hit the glass. Wonky outside shot that kinda worked. I’d certainly be fine with Kuz as “end of career Marion.”

That’s a fun comp, Diaw was a sneaky good athlete (vertically but also strong in the base). Kuz has a bit of that size speed ratio, in lesser amounts. Diaw as I remember was also a creative passer. Not much of the modern NBA game runs through the high post. I guess my blueprint for Kuz would be, maybe Carlos Boozer? Meaning screen and roll, pick and pop, defend adequately and then rebound like a beast, don’t get cute. I feel if Kuz was the modern basketball version of that, he’d be a more valuable contributor. I get weary of the wild drives and weak finishes. Also no excuse for a pro with his body and background to not shoot standstill threes at a higher percentage.

Yeah, Diaw became a stout defender and while Kuz is a pretty good passer overall, Diaw was excellent. He's not going to become Diaw. But I think in shooting for Diaw he could fail into a more respectable role. I've also thought, like, what if he just gave up on skill, trained the **** out of his body, and then went all out as a rebounding specialist? That could be a real path for him. Again, not going to be Rodman, but in attempting to be Rodman he'd be a lot more useful than what he was last year.

I’ve always liked Lauri Markannen, and just did a deep dive in to his stats. Yikes. I got to think smart teams view his contract as a negative value. A three point guy who shoots 34 % from three, rebounds poorly, has a 1-1 assist to TO ratio, and never blocks shots. Ooof.

I think we all know they are heavily shopping Kuzma and if he's on the opening day roster its because they couldn't find the right deal. Maybe a deal has been agreed to, the bandied about 3-way deal of Monk to Toronto, Kuzma to Sacramento and Barrett to Milwaukee and its being held up because Dario Saric is moving in the deal and that can't be done until the Jonas Valanciunas trade becomes official.

Non 4/5’s that make more than Kuzma, and less than that mark:

Quickley
Jrue
Grant
Poole
Herro
Dejounte
McCollum
Jalen Johnson
Wiggins
White
Barrett
Simons
Vassell
Rozier
Tobias
Murphy
FVV
Miles Bridges
Mikal
Demar
Jaden mcdaniels
Hunter
Aaron Gordon

Anyone want to take a crack at a non-usual suspect scenario? No bad answers.

Let's say, for academic purposes: how many of our picks back would we require to take on DeJounte Murray?

Scott Perry was being interviewed during summer league yesterday and seemed like the guy you want to take advantage of in a trade. Just seemed totally clueless.

Awesome, thanks for the update!

Was your source in the know about the Myles Turner signing by chance? Did you talk about that?

We might have to get rid of the Bucks back pack and replace it with a Bucks ceiling fan now for the new Bat Signal when we need the scoop!

I really, really, really don't want to keep watching Kuzma in a Bucks uniform. Would be so nice to swap him this summer, for pretty much anything, as long as we don't include any first rounders.

The guy is the definition of a bucket of ass.

I agree, it's because he is so inconsistent. He has so much potential but its just not there every game. He also doesn't have the heart, the motor, or the killer instinct. I think Horst is smart enough to pass on Wiggins b/c their asking price is far to high for that type of player. I think we can do better. It's time to go all in - Trey Murphy III and steal CP3 on the vet min.

Keep it simple, Kuz/draft consideration of your choice for Monk/Ellis

PG KPJ, Rollins
SG GTJ, AJG
SF Ellis, Prince
PF Giannis, Portis
C Turner, Sims

6th man Monk

Problems solved

They’d probably make us take Devin Carter instead of Ellis, because he hasn’t looked good. But still an ultra athletic guard prospect.
