But it makes me sad our GM has had three years and hasn't added an above average player to our roster. :(

What are you talking about. He did a great job his first two years with us. Sure he stunk his 3rd year but without those great players he brought in those first two years we'd be a below average team with few assets and little cap space. The guy has us positioned perfectly for the future.

I know he was. I was pointing out that he may want to get fresh material. The statute of limitations on that joke ran out a long time ago. :)

The statute runs out when Hammond loses his job. Until then, it's open season for division rival jokes, changing the culture references, reminders that his lotto drafting legacy is Darko/Alexander/Jennings/Sanders, pulling out the quote about not having a plan his first year on the job, poking fun of his limited understanding of the CBA, and the fact that Drew Gooden was sufficient justification to abandon his "cap space in 2011" master plan.

I think JaJuan Johnson would be a good late 1st round pick. Anybody agree?

Can't forget about Ridnour being restricted, or do you count that under "limited understanding of the CBA"

If i'm a contender picking late in the first round, i'd rather have Ersan as a bench player than picking some guy that likely either won't contribute much or at all his first year/two, and maybe never contributes.

Have people forgotten how useful Ersan was on the FTD team? We're not talking about trading him for a lottery pick here. How can it be that a player who's still in his prime, is healthy, has a bargain-basement contract, and proved he can be a valuable contributor on a good team isn't considered worthy of a late first-round pick? Late first-rounders often don't even stay in the league more than a few years.

I covet Darius Morris with a late first. Justin Harper or JaJuan Johnson would make me happy, too.

Ahh. So if Hammond was the Bucks' GM for the next 10 years and made 20 trades in that time with Central Division teams you'd still pull that tired old joke out of your behind even though it had long since past its expiration date? Got it. Some of you are a bitter and angry lot, that's for sure. :)

But just think of all the potential joke material it would provide. Plus it would be worth it just to watch Europa run around trying to put out all the Hammond fires and feel his pain as he takes offense every time his boy is slighted.

I think the next 24 hours make or break John Hammond.

He's got a team that needs to make some moves to shake it up and there appear to be plenty of fish swimming around to try and catch.

If tomorrow night at this time we are looking at Klay Thompson and Jon Leuer, I think it could be fair to characterize him as either naive (in not understanding how bad his team is) or completely unable to negotiate with other teams.

That said, I'm hoping he'll serve up some crow in the form of some great deals.

ETA: It would appear that potential framework is there for a Bogut for 2/20 deal and a 10/Ersan for 14/23/Patterson type deal. I'd be pretty stoked if we had Derrick Williams, Moto, Patrick Patterson and Brooks on this team by tomorrow night. That would be a big downpayment on a rebuild.

Ha has to crawl before he can walk. I'd be impressed if Hammond manages to secure an additional first.

I'm expecting the least creative outcome like the Klay one you posted, maybe he'll surprise me, but not holding my breath.
Go Bucks!

Chauncy has already made his legacy - **** HORSE ****. Even if he gets that core are we supposed to wait around 3 more years to see how this core performs?

Yeah, I'd give him some slack and more time if he pulled off those two deals.

Chad Ford did a podcast yesterday with Bill Simmons. At the end, Simmons asked Ford if Bogut was on the market. Ford said he didn't think so with the reasoning that he thinks Hammond likes his team and that only injuries last year prevented them from being a competitive 45 to 50 win team. Simmons laughed incredulously multiple times and even Ford wondered what Hammond and the Bucks were drinking. If Hammond can blow it up an admit where he this team really is, that is massive progress. Plus these two deals would be good ones to pull off.

To be fair I've laughed incredulously multiple times at some of the garbage moves Simmons has endorsed the past few days, so maybe we should call it even.
