Finished 'The Night Manager" last night. Fantastic. 'Limited series' are my wheelhouse. Never drag on like a 'miniseries' tend to do. Really enjoyed "The Night Of" as well.

Finally started season 3 of Black Mirror. Never been a big Bryce Dallas Howard fan but holy hell she killed it in the first episode. That was award worthy for sure.

Saw La La Land last night. That type of movie usually isn't my cup of tea but I thought it was very well done and entertaining. I enjoyed Whiplash and the same guy who wrote/directed that did this one so I thought I'd give it a shot.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Finally watched Moonlight. Definitely one of the best movies I've seen from 2016. I went into it with limited knowledge of the what it was about, and I was stunned at how well it was done even with the highly regarded reviews.

Yeah I really liked it. Wish there was more.

The Night Of was one of my favorite shows of the year

Well I thought the game would be the highlight last night, but things didn't go as expected. :banghead:

Finished the series though and was very impressed. Great acting by B.B.Thornton and W.Hurt, good supporting cast, well directed. It is a good mini series (8 episodes of 60') to keep you busy for a short spell. Resolves at the end (so if there will be a second season, it will be with a new plot).

Westworld is over too. After reading some posts here I think the next one, until W.D. starts again ,will be the Night Manager.

I was loving that show, but the first season dragged a bit, like they tried to get 3 extra episodes in there. Then season 2 just felt like all extra episodes. Lost me mid way through the second season.

Would be curious to hear everyone else's, I've done the same with my friends and we all kind of like different episodes. Makes for a fun discussion. There's been at least one or two all time greats each season thus far, imo.

I'll go with

...

Now I'll say that every ep was a 7/10 so I'll rank based on that.

10/10
Entire History of You
San Junipero

9/10
15 Million Merits
National Anthem
White Bear
Shut Up and Dance

8/10
White Christmas
Nosedive
Playtest
Hated in the Nation

7/10
Men Against Fire
Be Right Back
Waldo Moment

Finally got around to Hated In The Nation last night. So now that I've finished the series, my rankings:

1. White Christmas - Flawless
2. San Junipero - Nearly flawless (would have preferred the woman follow her husband and daughter by not staying in San Junipero)
3. Entire History of You - First "WOW" episode for me
4. 15 Million Merits - Had me intrigued the whole way and a satisfying ending
5. Be Right Back - Very thought provoking and a realistic near future technology
6. White Bear - Bonus points for keeping me lost/confused/intrigued until right before the final reveal
7. Shut Up and Dance - Most uncomfortable episode, but very well done
8. Hated In The Nation - A little dull at times, but very interesting concept that should make everyone hesitant to embrace autonomous technology and the way you conduct yourself online
9. Playtest - Hated it at first but liked it more as I thought about it
10. Men Against Fire - Docked points because I could tell where it was going 10 minutes in
11. National Anthem - Seemed a lot better/interesting until I started to watch more episodes, arguably the most realistic of all the plots though
12. Nosedive - No twist/interesting angles, totally predictable
13. Waldo Moment - Unrealistic, annoying, and predictable stroyline

Hmm. The plot does seem to move slowly at times, but I'm still super into it. Both seasons.

I don't remember all of the episodes by title, but totally thought Nosedive was the most realistic episode I could see happening. which is saying something.

I get that a little with the way you rank uber drivers, businesses, etc., but I just don't think it will ever get to the point where you literally rank everyone you interact with. Maybe something in between could eventually be possible though. Hope not, that would be a miserable world.

People not getting enough facebook likes on a post or liking something because they just want people to see they liked it, is already a real thing.

Nosedive was pretty convincingly my favorite episode (perhaps because of the horrifyingly realistic potential?). Phenomenal performance by BDH.

That, San Junipero, and White Christmas are in a class by themselves.

I enjoyed the first 3 episodes and then got bored pretty quickly. Gave up halfway into episode 5 knowing that there was only an episode and a half left.
