Meh. Lot can happen between now and then. I'm not going to soil my diaper just yet.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.
Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Just did some math out of curiosity, and this is the contract Giannis could get from us starting 2021-22, based on current cap projections ($119,070,000).
$41,674,500
$45,008,460
$48,609,136
$52,497,867
$56,697,696
5 years $244,487,659

KD doesn't agree with that..winning matters to some more than other. Giannis wants to win.
I think Giannis cares more about money than winning. I've seen him chase triple doubles in previous seasons so obviously he's more Westbrook than Durant /s

^^^ precisely why I'm not worried about him leaving.
Giannis grew up dirt poor and still lives with or close to his parents to this day. My gut feeling is he will get every damn dollar he can for he and his family and the largest contract can only come from us.
My bigger concern is will Kidd and his Asst GM Horst piss away all our cap space before then on the Telly's and Derrick Rose's of the world.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Giannis already had more money than he can ever spend.
Money won't keep him anywhere. Look at my sig. He wants rings.

Sure, but he can attain generational wealth, going to be hard to pass that up.

Saying giannis was poor so he won't turn down an extra few million to win is ridiculous and naiive. His rookie contract was enough money for him to appreciate how lucky he is. I just find it silly people are so sure he'll never leave.

I think it's impossible to speculate.
In terms of stars leaving the teams that draft them, Giannis could be an exception. It could be Giannis coming from a tough background and never forgetting the place that brought him to the NBA and gave him the opportunity to earn millions, and for that he's loyalty goes beyond whatever front office politics and the thought never crosses his mind to leave. He focuses on being the best player he can be and happily extends a fair market value for his services.
It could be Giannis becomes one of the main faces of the NBA and every team and every all star game his new friends are pulling him and trying to convince him to join a super team and eventually he gets tired of the Kevin Garnett syndrome and leaves.
It could be Giannis takes the Dirk route and eventually we find the right combination of players to bring a championship and his patience pays off.
We just dont know. And it's impossible to know.
And part of me thinks even if Giannis left, I have doubts it would be a wakeup call to the FO, I have a feeling they would simply say, "Well its difficult being a small market team, we did our best." and that's it.
I'm happy there is some exposure from WOJ, because hopefully it would start some internal dialogue that the clock is ticking, but big ego FO guys with puppet GM can easily deflect blame on themselves and toss their puppets away without fixing things.

Over those same five years, what is the most he could get if he signs with another team?

Isn't the takeaway with Utah that the Bucks could do everything perfectly and Giannis is still a threat to move on? What's the story here?

The takeway is Hayward would be on the Jazz right now if he made an All-NBA team. We need Giannis to make All-NBA in 2021 or in both 2019 & 2020 to be able to offer him the super max.

Maybe you can take your quality posts to his new teams board. Get sick of hearing takes from someone who doesn't seem to be a fan, and trolls the board.
First of all, i am a fan of the team, not a fan of the fan base as it is presented in RGM by many.. If we talk about D-Rose being toxic in Locker rooms, someone should just read a few comments over here to get an idea of toxicity.. regarding the team in general, the staff, the coaches, the players, the direction of the team (Tanking/No Tanking), the evaluation of players, the trades etc etc
Secondly, this board with the way that it presents it's opinions and with many members having convictions that should be beyond dispute or criticism - easily derailing to personal attacks when some1 disagrees with the main stream - deserves to be trolled. Trolled Big-time.
Finally, regarding the subject of Giannis. Personally i 'd love to see Giannis be loyal and win many titles in Milwaukee.. BUT Giannis is the type of player that is a competitor.. he constantly improves and constantly urges things to evolve towards improvemet.. That means that if he is stuck in an environment that does not provide him with the tools to fulfill his ambition, then he ll be leaving WITHOUT a doubt. So, hearing comments about, the Bucks being Bucks, or how Milwaukee is a small market (as if Minny or OKC or Cleveland aren't), only means that this team could achieve as much.. A sick and miserable mentality, about picking little picks and hoping that they ll turn out good (when the team already has a generational player), not making bold moves for players like PG13 or Love or Butler to improve the quality, settling with mediocrity like Delly and Henson, exaggerating over some players abilities like Brogdon being the driving force on a contending team.. THOSE THINGS matter over to the general climate that TURNS STARS OFF and eventually makes them go away. I hope that things will change.. but i doubt it.

Ok, ill say it.
Woj is just a big time puppet of the league and now works as the main media goto for their major partner. There is a reason why this guy is spoon fed so many leaks. Same with Ramona Shelburne. Same with Brian Windhorst. They play the game and rarely will break critical stories about the league, its big money franchises, or star players. It’s not really a leak, it’s just a press release sent to the guy who edits what we get to hear about and what we dont.
Woj = fraud. He doesn’t have inside information. He has information that was set for release and is being sent through NBA approved channels.
So if Woj mildly rips a small market - he’s basically just saying.. hey, your next big thing is going to a big market and there isn’t anything you can do about it, super max or not. Media/Shoe dollars >>>> Supermax for superstar players.
This is why, all this bickering about cap and roster construction is really small potatoes. We should be on here trying to get our message across that the NBA needs major reforms in terms of how they approach a salary cap and teams abilities to keep their superstars in their markets at astronomical salaries.

Re: Woj on Russillo show rips our FO/Giannis at risk if no improvement
1. We can't possibly know what Giannis development will be in 4 years. Neither this guy woj, nor anyone. First of all he must remain healthy.
2. IF Giannis becomes the guy most of us expect him to become, the last thing i expect him to take into account will be his salaries. Giannis at 26 will be entering his prime years, he will be having 8 full years of experience and he will know what he wants to do with his carreer. That is to win titles and he will want to do it with milwaukee.
3. Signings like henson, sanders and plumlee are not going to help. Signings like dellavedova or teletovic are good signings no matter if they don't pan out(who was expecting mirza to have such a bad season?)
4. If jabari and khris stay healthy there is no reason to not believe that milwaukee will not be a top seeder in the league.
5. Judging by the development of youth(giannis, jabari, khris, brogdon, maker) Kidd will be the coach for the coming years. Just like the players become more experienced, the same we can hope for the coaching staff.
6. A big FA signing will make things a lot easier in every direction. The team hasn't done any huge mistake with contracts. I can name a douzen teams that have given horrendous contracts. MKE is not one of those teams. All you need to do is to trade a couple of guys and clear your salary cap(even for 2nd rounders).
I can't understand why there is so much negativity. The team is coming off a good season in which it managed to have a good PO appearance despite the crucial injuries. We must continue in the same way. Nothing drastic needed. A couple of smart moves and we're ok. Nobody is expecting the championship in the next 2-3 years(i hope). Just cool it. Peace out

Just stop signing dumb deals, overpaying for mediocrity to win now, roll with what we have in a weak East, develop young talent, keep your 1sts, and when the books are clear one year prior to Giannis's deal being up make your splash as top tier FAs line up to play with the best player in the league.
It's that effing simple Bucks management. Don't eff this up.
