Regardless of this pick outcome, it’s fair to say the Bucks will make the wrong decision with whatever asset they do or do not have. It is a near certainty.

There really should be a Nihlist Bucks poll.

If it's Horst making the pick I think I'd rather give it up now.

That said, it certainly would be a hit to lose it in the context of our timelines for enticing Giannis to sign an extension.

But we have bigger concerns beyond the pick if LED really won't hire a serious GM if not POBO along with a coach.

It should be clarified in the title as this is basically the debate. Never trust the Bucks is a good mantra in both directions.

Hell, a third option in this poll is a must. I would very easily select the, “It doesn’t matter. This is the Bucks and they will screw this up regardless.”, over the simple ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ options.

I'm torn. We need to add more cheap talent to this roster, but our FO is inept as talent evaluators (among other things). If we don't get a real POBO/GM in here before the draft, then keeping the pick is pointless.

If we do keep the pick though, I'd love to move it with other assets for a favorable return. If Philly is serious about pursuing LeBron, I'd dangle Bled/Midds/#17 for Covington/Bayless/#10/#26. Draft Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson, go get Jay Wright. All in on plan Villanova.

Head says give it up. Heart says keep it. No more heartbreak for this guy, going with give it up.

BAYLESS?

He belongs in a Bucks uni.

For real though, that would only be for salary purposes. Just cut him, whatever. It's about turning Bledsoe/Middleton into Covington/Bridges/Brunson. Not trying to derail the thread.

Beating a banged up Boston team just to "win a playoff series" isn't going to suddenly make me feel better about this team. They've been a frustrating watch all year. Ideally everything clicks with Brogdon back and we can make a deep run. But purposely forfeiting a 1st round draft pick just to secure a more favorable round one playoff opponent doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

That's not at all why people are saying they want to give up the pick.

I see that now. But most of the explanations I'm reading have to do with fearing for a future Giannis injury. I mean.. c'mon we can't live like that.

It's not like people are freaking out about it. They are just realistic that our ceiling is pretty much 24th next year. The difference between 16 this year and 25 next year isn't that much, but there is a huge difference between 4-6 next year and 16 this year. The risk reward just isn't their to push it til next year. Add in it prevents trades for another year and I find it a no brainer.

Not that I put much stock into W/L record without a team's best player, but the Bucks are 5-2 without Giannis this year. I don't buy that they'd be some bottom-5 team if (god forbid) he ever goes down with a significant injury. If we're using precedent to assume the Bucks will always find a way to **** it up, then I'll also use precedent that Giannis has been one of the most durable players in the league over the last 4 years. It's just not that big of a concern for me.

No pick! But isn’t it almost impossible now for us to lose the pick?

This would be so much easier if you could trust the people in charge of our team building.

We played Phoenix twice, Knicks, Philly, Bulls, Hornets and Magic. We struggled in all of those games.

Never said they were a good team without him. Just that they would still beat the bad teams more often than not.

Or, how about just being able to identify an organizational hierarchy? we don't even know who or how we are making the wrong decisions we make.

We can't lose it outright. Worse/best case, depending on your POV here, it goes to a random drawing if our record is tied with anybody. We beat Philly, 17 is ours.

if the pick ends up 17, what are the odds the Bucks take off the protection and ask for a little something back from PHX like pick 31 or something else?

I hate how much this resonates with me.
