Jrue may well be the best player we’ve ever signed in the open market. And he’s saying he’s a buck for life! How far we have come as a franchise compared to 4 years ago!

Yeah, no.
Get back to me when we get bounced in the 2nd round and you realize you've locked yourself into a core that's not enough.

Next step is to have Giannis convince Lillard to come play with him. He asks out, wants Milwaukee, we give them Middleton+. New big three, Giannis, Lillard, Jrue. 8-)

I wanted him in Boston but the asking price was just too much. You really wanted him and that's why you paid so much.
That Smart/Holiday backcourt tho would have been something else defensively. Oh well.
Congrats again.
Find guys like Portis on cheap contracts, don't pay guys like Lopez and you'll be good.

I mean if we were a fringe lottery team like Boston, i could see calling the asking price too high. But a few ultra late firsts and some pick swaps that either wont materialize or be a negligable difference is easy money. The final tally on this trade is going to be sad for the Pels.

Is this the most talented bucks team in the last 30+ years?

Is this the best big three, even better than the 2001 big 3?

Giannis and 2 people from this board might be better than the big 3 in 2001.

If I could only have 2 players out of Giannis/Holiday/Middleton/Ray/Cassell/Big Dog. I'd take Giannis & Holiday.

I'd go
1.Giannis
2.Holiday
3.Ray
4.Cassell
5.Big Dog
6.Middleton

I mean, if he hadn't re-signed with us, that trade would go down as one of the worst of all time.

I'm thrilled he'll be a part of our core for years to come. Hopefully he can stay healthy, because when he's on the court, this team is so much better on both ends.

Exactly....you had to know this was coming after the trade. If not that trade is horrible.

Not signing him does nothing to gain flexibility to improve the roster.

He's also still a massive asset, he's worth more now than before the extension.

How is this the open market? This is with him under contract before he'd hit the open market.

What really happened: When the Bucks traded for him, they gave up so much, that they virtually had to re-sign him - which dramatically increased Jrue's bargaining positions. And the result is this ginormous contract. Now, we need to win a championship. Next season, we cut corners around the big 3 even more. For better or for worse, everyone should have seen this coming. It's hardly a surprise. It's when we win a championship that we can exhale - not now.

Jrue would have been wasted by the previous regime, and this organization would be dead to him.

Now, instead, we have him, the perfect compliment to Giannis

Becoming a theme. Most of us were mad when we didn't grab Portis. And we were insanely jealous Brook was better than Andrew to the point we called him Wilt. Teague was also, there were a lot of good point guards in that 2009 draft.

Anyone else on the roster now that people hoped for earlier?

Your team just gave Jayson Tatum $200 million.

Yeah, because before the extension the Bucks were guaranteed the title in the future with all the options to upgrade their roster in the future (practically none of note) and the extension now makes them a 2nd round exit.

What???

The Celtics would pay him this contract in a heartbeat if Jrue was a free agent this summer.

It’s kinda like the Kemba deal except Jrue is actually really good.
