He's a very talented scorer so of course they want him to try to figure it out to see if he can be useful off the bench.

I guess I see him as a shooter and not a scorer. I don’t think he has the handle or athleticism to be able to consistently create his own shot.

I mean he'll always have that step-back three. That's just not a great need when Giannis and Khris are on the floor.

This seems like a good indication that we're going to get some guys coming back.

Why not have Khash brothers raining from the perimeter & mid-range? I'll disagree, think he's a scorer for sure. Jrue didn't say he can see a young Khris in Jordan's game for no reason.

Do we know if / when Connaughton is eligible for an extension?

The value of Pat's versatility is on full display with our current depleted roster -- which of course also comes on the heels of his clutch and steady playoff performance throughout.

And it's not necessarily mutually exclusive but if the Bucks plan to lock up Connaughton long term that could effect how much $ our owners would clear (if any) to spend on Donte long term.

Could just be they want to get them into the start of training camp with the Herd. Definitely seems like an indication they don't see Robinson as a traditional 2 way guy. The Wigginton trade to get the Herd a lead guard makes sense in that context as well.

Anyone know if there is a limit on the days the two way guys are up with the big team or is it the same as last season and they can stay the entire season?

Same as last year except they're not playoff eligible (unless their contract is converted).

With the Grayson signing I think Dontes gone.

Kind of my vibe so far too. I've been thinking he's forcing a bit too much, too much off the dribble contested stuff. I assume he's being given the OK to do this or he'd have been benched but I think that might be asking a bit too much of him, especially in his first few games. OTOH, it's a show of confidence to him if they tell him to kind of chuck that much. Overall though, I still like him and am on board with keeping him going and try to find his niche/role.

Unless they decide to trade Grayson & resign him after seeing what he has post recovery.

Giannis keeps on amazing me. He's actually turning into a natural, skilled NBA player. I wasn't quite sure if that would ever happen.

I mean our owners could sign everyone but they won’t.

Nwora looking like a NBA player with potential is certainly an interesting development.

In theory Donte plays positions of the greatest need for us. However unless we can keep him on a serious discount I think the health risks tilt the scales to prioritize investing elsewhere.

It's gratifying that he's gotten a few blocks and hasn't been a turnover machine like he was as a rookie, but the guy has a (small sample) TS% of .487 this year.
Whatever people are seeing is potential and not production. That TS% is 10th out of 13 bucks who have played. It will go up, of course, but if you're seeing a guy who is producing at "quality rotation player" level NOW, you don't know what a quality rotation player looks like.

Donte is as good as gone this offseason unless one of Pat/Nwora/Bobby has a super disappointing season or major injury. His skills are a luxury but not a need for this team in the playoffs. The bucks had all time great playoff defenses the two years he was out. This team needs half court scoring bad and the other guys provide more on that end.

The Allen trade and extension sealed the deal.

This is if you look at specifically one thing, sure. What people are seeing is that he, a guy who previously showed little to no ability or interest, is doing things outside of getting the ball in the hoop that are solidifying his role on the basketball team. If he continues to do these things on top of the "of course it will go up" scoring, he's a surefire quality rotation player. Previously even with extreme efficiency he was looking like Michael Beasley at best. After these 4 games of actual play, and nothing to do with potential, he's calmed a lot of those nerves.

People need to take a wait and see approach with Grayson Allen. As of yesterday, he had the most wide open threes in the league (thanks Giannis) and was 5 for 18.

I don't think he's as good of a shooter as some here think. He's definitely better at the rim than DDV,
but he's also worse defensively, which as far as I know is still half the game.

Eh, guy has been a 38% 3PT shooter and 83% from the line in college and......38% from 3 and 83% from the line in the pros. That's remarkable consistency and I'd go ahead and say that makes him a borderline elite shooter, small early season sample size be damned.

Love the college highlights, and the notion that his skillset will transfer, but through a handful of games Mamu has looked like the worst player in the NBA.

In what world is a 38% three point shooter borderline elite? Here's last season rankings:

I'd say borderline average is more accurate.
