Super close games for both of the first two based on shot quality, that’s the new look NBA variance at work.

They outscored us by 51 points from the 3 pt line...thats embarrassing how a professional team shoots 3-16 from 3

I would like to add because I don't see it here that Milwaukee was overplaying the pass to 3 point shooters and contesting the upfake, this allowed Boston middle penetration and to kick it out to the weakside for open shooters. SVG was horrific in this game, I'm wondering if he's trying to line up something in the Celtics Front Office or if he has some sort of brain injury. Grant Williams looks like an obese child and is the fake tough guy who flops on most positions, his tug move on Pat's arm tonight was reminiscent of Olynyk/Kevin Love.

Onto Game 3, the only good takeaway from this is that Brown and Williams combined for 12 3s on >50% shooting and we were within a fews 3s from making Boston poo themselves and blowing the game. Had guys closed out effectively to shooters tonight and not bit on the initial shot fake which led to open 3s on the weak side after a swing pass this is a single digit game (even with the offensive problems and Brown turning into prime Steph Curry in the 1st QTR)

Two of those attempts were by Vildoza and Ibaka in garbage time. It felt like the Bucks didn't take more than 4-5 threes. Some of that was Boston contesting but a lot of that was Bucks playing a ton of iso-ball with telegraphed outlet passes on the strong side (aka what Bucks did to Boston in Game 1).

Honestly, I'm loving the way Grayson is playing off the ball, he's working hard to get open and he's at least competing defensively. Bud should run more plays for him. Let him do some high-screen work with Gianni especially, he got like three straight layups since the opposing big is too worried about Freak getting a layup/dunk. You can do a screen into a Gianni post-up with Allen as his primary outlet.

Yep, the league is driven by 3 point shot variance. The Warriors blew it wide open. We’ve seen some absurd games come down to teams just going nuclear from 3, and conversely others going ice cold (that Houston team that missed 27 straight threes against the Warriors).

I think we made solid adjustments throughout the game but it was just too far gone and Boston at home down in the series wasn't going to let down. They made tough shots and got some lucky bounces late in the clock but also played hungrier and cleaner than we did. The Giannis 1 on 1 stuff was rough early and then we got more guys involved off of Giannis plays and he got cooking. Defensively I personally don't think systematically we really did anything wrong. To me a lot of our downfalls (outside of them hitting tough shots) was a lot of the guys defending off the ball got caught watching way too hard and rotations were super slow. Obviously that is predicated a lot from Boston moving the ball extremely well but to me it's something that you can (hopefully) easily clean up. Took one from them, they adjusted and now its our turn. Take care at home.

Interesting that you, a mod, don't find perceptive commentary worthwhile, though it does explain the persecution I face on this forum.

Bucks flat out were a step slower than the Celtics tonight. Whether it was getting by someone, getting a shot off or grabbing a rebound.

The good news is we've got the best player in the world. And he at least got some rhythm going in the second half. But we've got to keep HCA in these next two.

While we can live with the result, it could've been avoided.

Don't know why they need to make it so difficult on themselves. Spam PNR with Giannis as the screener and get him going downhill against chunky defenders. I thought they figured this out last year.

One addendum - the Celtics played better without Smart. Less theatrics, more ball movement, ball in the hands of better shooters.

I've complained about this before so I apologise but I think it's crazy that I've seen retweets from Boston beat reporters tweeting out words from their coach and players but have seen nothing from anyone on the Bucks. The way this team is covered is terrible.

That was a dud. It's game two. Not losing any sleep over it at all, I'll say that.

Underrated move that Bud kept the foot on the gas and made Boston still have to work well into the 4th quarter even though we had no real chance to win. Some coaches would have probably waived the white flag a lot earlier. Like you said, that let Giannis get into a rhythm and it also let him get a good feel for the Boston's defensive adjustments. It was almost like the 2nd half was some good practice for game 3. Hopefully that will carry over and Giannis will be able to set a better tone in game 3 than he did tonight. Grayson did some things in the 2nd half too that could carry over.

Win both games at home and were up 3-1. I didn’t think this game would be as out of reach as it was, but I also didn’t see us winning both games in Boston. Just win the next 2.

Whatever. Every time a team plus the Bucks physically, we think they are dirty. What do you think other fans think of the Bucks? Especially Giannis with the way he plays bully ball?
