I fully support the decision. But is Bud instantly the best available coach on the market?

Also, I don't understand the Lee love? I have no idea how you guys have any evaluation of our assistant coaches? Like he is at best our 3rd best coach from Bud's original staff and what makes him so respected compared to (IDK say vin baker)? He was still on the staff that missed managed timeouts, had horrible meltdowns and had the game plan to let JFB go off.

Monty would be a much better fit. Can't see PHX dismissing him even if Denver knocks them out. They will give him next season (with an offseason including KD) before he gets the sack.

Not thrilled with how Monty has handled both Crowder and Ayton. Also Bridges popped immediately after being traded.

Check Bridges game log the two months before he was traded and he was the primary guy with everyone hurt, very similar to his Brooklyn run.

I think every coach who's ever coached Ayton has had some degree of frustration with him.

Hard to say if Monty gets the ax. New owner so possible but Booker seems to really like him so he's probably back.

Giannis would love Monty. But his Ted Lasso crossed with a baptist preacher style isn't for everyone. On the floor his suns teams have been very displined especially on D. Like you just don't get to play if you mess up assignments. He also has zero interest in dealing with problem players, if you do want to be there and play your role you're gone.

Bring Nurse and maybe a Raptors Free Agent special.

Bud has had issues over the years, but no doubt he was handicapped by the limitations of this roster offensively.

When he coached ATL, they were a ball movement team, yet when he got here, he had to adjust around Giannis’ skillset offensively.

He got us over the hump, but teams have adjusted & Giannis’ development has stagnated as well.

Things won’t get better until he curtails the BS out of his game & operates from more optimal positions on the floor.

I blame the defense solely on Bud though. Way too much reliance on Brook this year.

I just hope he isn't used as the scapegoat to give Middleton 4/160 and Brook 3/60 and run it back no changes.

Possible to acknowledge that Bud's leadership probably saved basketball in Milwaukee while also recognize that sometimes you need new ideas and new vision organizationally.

This was the only possible option, really, to address what happened this past postseason if they weren't gonna run it back and try again.

Take some time to identify the best coach, get him in, and let's go win another **** one. Thanks Bud, good luck at your next stop.

Bud would’ve been fired in 2021 if Giannis, Jrue, Middleton and Pj Tucker didn’t save his job and win a title. Bud certainly helped with the culture of the organization but being some mastermind coach is something I’ll never give Bud credit for. Great memories, that ring will always be legendary, my condolences of course but Bud has always been replaceable.

Absolutely not.

You don’t hire an NBA rookie Head Coach for a roster like this, on this timeline, especially after replacing Bud.

If they don’t get this hire right, this franchise will look very different with 2 years.

Mixed emotions, it might be the only way for the team to move forward with our limited assets and locked in core but damn is it cold after Giannis being hurt and what happened to his brother. Bud will land on his feet I’m sure and he will always and forever be a champion here in Milwaukee.

Nick Nurse or Tyron Lue, only guys Im interested in

This. It's very easy to forget the decades of mediocrity and disorganization that preceded Bud and take for granted the culture of winning he brought to the organization. Hopefully this ends up being one of the rare instances where the grass is actually greener. Best of luck in the future Bud, you're one of the good ones.

I will always have good thoughts for Bud. He is a good man and his locker room of players have been a very good group of guys. Let's see what the new coach does with the team and the locker room.

Thank you Budenholzer and best wishes.

This really should be a Bud appreciation thread. Just an unbelievable regular season run and solid playoff run. I think we just got too predictable and players stopped responding. Hoping for MLF type rebound year with a new offense.

Definitely had to be done. Some were worried he would be sticking around after the death of his brother, and rightfully so. I'm glad the FO went through with it.

Thanks for everything Bud. You were a class act and a genuinely nice guy. Really too bad you couldn't be our Pop.
