Wow what an exhilarating win, best we have looked all season and that Ajax pass man , the kid is something special. Made even better by beating Mavs playing at their peak.

Any defensive player would have been better to have out there. But we lack a guy like that, don't we? Dre could get there eventually but he's not there yet. And no, Crowder is not that guy, either. At least not based on what we've seen.
Anywho, best win of the season.
Khris and Marjon were out tonight and I think they could have been in there at the end. We got it done and we're playing good team ball right now.
Marjon is the guy I forget about. I think you're right. He probably would have been out there.
I'm not ready to count on Khris for anything until he starts playing more than once or twice a week.
Everyone already forgetting that we don't have Crowder either.

Re: PG Mavericks: Bucks get hot at right time
At some point during the game I was going to comment that beas/dame/pat on D is gross and it's why we lost, and Pat shuts up all the nonsense with playoff Pat.
BTW.... Its **** unbelievable.... We have Dame and Dame time in Milwaukee is a real thing. I don't even know how this is possible.

Great win, in unexpected fashion.
Beasley is looking more comfortable to me. Even on defense.
Lillard gives the Bucks something they have been lacking. With the game on the line, they can just tell Lillard to "go get fouled". Easy 2 points. Fairly reliable result, even under pressure. 98 made FTs this young season. (Last year Holiday made 152 FTs the entire season.)
Jackson's pass to Green was unreal. Not that he was physically able to make the pass, but that without looking he knew exactly where Green was standing and that he was able to put the right in Green's midsection for a quick long 3. We have had the chance to see that awareness from him so far.
Griffin seems to be integrating the young guys effectively. Beauchamp, Jackson and Green mostly. That is really a lot of young players getting meaningful minutes on a contender.
I didn't think the home crowd was particularly loud tonight. The fans are trained to watch the jumbotron and react to the in-game hosts. That distracts fans from following the game on the court.

Great win against a good team, especially given the scheduling. Defense still has some questions but Dame and Giannis are really starting to figure out how to play within themselves and compliment each other on offense.

Re: PG Mavericks: Bucks get hot at right time
AJJ is not the defense stopper yet but he has potential to become one. He needs experience and he needs to go up against top offensive talent to continue to grow and get experience.
I'm glad AG threw him out there on Luka and I hope he continues to get AJJ on integrated. The faster AJJ grows and the more experience he gets the better off the team in the long run.

Re: PG Mavericks: Bucks get hot at right time
Reasons we lose this game with Jrue instead of Dame:
1) Giannis was cooking in the 1st half so they pack the paint completely and take the gamble on Lopez missing his wide open 3s which he did(like 5 in a row) so Giannis who is already tired from the 1st half cooking either has to take bad jumpshots or attack a super packed paint without energy. Lillard unlocked us and put us in the right way.
2) You can find clutch defense out of nowhere but you can't find clutch offense out of nowhere. In the past Giannis legs without Dame's help become toast and in the 4th along with more bricks from Lopez and turnovers and bad misses from Jrue and Giannis we lose the game. Dame and Giannis took turns and they lasted until the end without burning themselves even on a b2b against a fresh team.
3) Giannis with energy left smelling blood is by far the most dangerous and versatile defender in the league. Nobody comes close to his level of rebounding, rim protection, switching against everyone, deflecting and closing out on 3s like a madman. Without Dame's help on offense we have a tired Giannis on defense, not closing out, not boxing out and commiting stupid fouls because of his dead legs.
4) Secure hands, 90% FTs, elite superstar foul baiting when the ball is hot and the legs are tired.
That was one of the best(quality wise) regular season games I've seen. 4 superstars at the same time on the court having a great night showing off their skills and talent on a close game. Whoever was lucky enough to be there got their ticket price back tenfold!
Edit:
5) Cam Payne as our backup PG instead of noone.

Re: PG Mavericks: Bucks get hot at right time
Great win on a back-to-back. Defense still not great, but the Mavs do have some fantastic offensive talent.
Love seeing Dame and Giannis take over in the fourth quarter. Let’s go on a little run here and get into a rhythm. Hopefully Khris can start playing in all games.

Re: PG Mavericks: Bucks get hot at right time
We started rolling all because of this board btw.
Giannis has regressed. He is barely an allstar right now => Giannis starts playing his best basketball ever
We got Lillard and he looks like Brandon Knight => Dame starts looking like a superstar
No more Beasley you idiot! => Beasley turns himself to prime Klay Thompson
No more Pat he is been terrible! => Pat has his best game of the season
Griffin is simply clueless on offense bring Scotts back! => Bucks start playing the best offense in Giannis era.

Basically what I'm saying since the beginning despite our struggles in the first few games. It's not Dame's offense or Giannis to become a classic screen rolling big all of a sudden. It's a balance they have to find based on the night and the opponent with the exception of the clutch time being Dame's and when the wall defense has cracks to feed Giannis at every opportunity. This balance will allow both the superstars to have energy till the end and play at the top of their abilities like last night on the 2nd of a b2b.
Only real problem is the perimeter defense and our rebounding atm.

Re: PG Mavericks: Bucks get hot at right time
Thoughts:
1) Enjoyable game to watch. I didn't have to turn off the sound at the beginning of the game. Marques vs. Novak is like Giannis vs. Mamu.
2) I see improvement in not allowing as many paint points, which has been a big problem.
3) The two areas that will still be killers against good teams are rebounding and allowing fast break points. Getting back on defense and locking down defensive boards are key. Right now the Bucks are one of the worst teams in both.
Starting two 7 footers, it's hard to believe how bad the rebounding is. If I'm the Bucks coaches, I start with the defensive rebounding.

To his credit, he’s trying a lot of different things. Especially with rotations.
Right now the team is winning with incredibly hot shooting. The question is does that sustain, as a result of understanding the gravity that Dame creates on the court. I.e. we become the Celtics, where every three goes down?
