Yea, if you're up 1, give up the open 3 that's 50-50, not layup 2 that's 99%. We're bad at math.

And that's what I said happened w/ AJ Green. I didn't know the call, but he got confused in rotation, as he often does, and he goes to the wrong man, so we had him & Trent on the perimeter.

Green's defense is so odd to evaluate, cuz much of the time he's a beast, including against star offensive players. But then some nights he's a turnstile. Then in help d, he'll rotate too early, or too the wrong guy, but others he'll end up all over the place.

Prince was literally pushing the pass to the rim from the outset of the inbound and we somehow gave up a look at the rim. I'm sure Doc will blame the players but that's coaching.

Dame hit the game winner the game after our game winning attempt was Giannis taking a jumper.

Trading Bobby is the way.

Trent had another nice game. Prince was bad tonight.

so it was green and GTJ going after brooks ?

LMAO

Green stuffed up. Just gotta keep it simple and stick to your man but he instead follows brooks (GTJ’s man) out to the corner. Giannis had to go to J Green to cover the three thinking someone had his back (no one did and the pass just sucked to Sengun).

Small edit: yeah this one is a cluster **** between Green and GTJ. Both thought the other was chasing green out to the perimeter and comically they both end up following brooks out to the corner putting Giannis in a terrible spot.

I think Giannis makes the right call here. Put this one on a miscommunication with GTJ and AJ.

A big takeaway for me that someone else mentioned was Pat DNP-Coach's Decision. I'm hopeful this is continued and AJAX, AJ Green, and others get the minutes. Orrrrr...mayyyybe....he's getting traded lol (I know he isn't).

Also, we're 1 game out of playoffs without the play-in.

Feel that load rolling off us and onto Joel Embiid and his zestfully intolerant joints.

Eason is so damn good. He blows up everything defensively. He has the size and length to guard up to Giannis, but then can also just frequently take the ball away from guards.

The underrated thing about him is he’s a blossoming two way player, he’s not just a nasty defender.

We saw him repeatedly attacking guys off the bounce and getting to the rim. He’s special.

I'm not rooting for Pat to have zero minutes, but just to have zero minutes when he's not needed and bring him in situationally. He shouldn't be 15+ minutes ever. I'm fine with 5-8 mins depending on what we need him for.

It would have been good if Ajax wasn't completely forgotten about in this game until 3 mins to go, after playing the first 4 mins.

If I'm Houston I hang up. If I'm Horst, I get that locked in and yell no takesies backsies.

Our guys still don't talk enough. They're putting the effort in, but words travel faster than feet. The initial **** up could have been easily avoided. But yeah, bad decision by Giannis. You stay low and trust your teammates to rotate high. Good job by Dre getting down there to pressure Sengun on the baseline, but I think the game was already won.

It honestly didn't seem like that bad a pass to me -- clearly it wasn't a *good* pass -- but I guess I'm used to Giannis catching it. I think most NBA bigs get a shot off on that though.

Pretty terrible game for Giannis. His 1 st quarter was atrocious. Moving way too fast without scanning all the bodies around him.

I thought his 2nd quarter was actually quite solid. He was more patient, let the game come to him, passed the ball off his gravity, and eventually found some weak points to attack in Houston’s D.

I thought he’d use that to build momentum, but then in the 3rd and 4th he settled for too many jumpers, and then had too many turnover off his post ups.

Relatedly, I hate that offensive foul call on Giannis when he spun on Vanvleet. If your elbow hits a dude, because he just so happens to be tiny, but it’s otherwise a normal spin, that shouldn’t be a foul.

One positive - his block on sengun late was ridiculous .

There was a stretch I think in the late 2nd and early 3rd where our defense looked the best it has all year.

Our role guys were moving well and connected as a unit. We gave Houston a ton of problems on that end.

I’d like to see more of that.

I thought the most interesting part of the last play is that Doc took Dame out and kept Green in to play defense. And Green almost made Doc pay for that trust in him.

And while I hate most trade ideas on here, the proposed trade of Dame for Van Vleet and Eason is one I would take.

The was a super frustrating Giannis game. Fell in love with the jumper early (don't care what his season stats are) and then his post game was being swarmed all over by Houston. His effort on the defensive end was abysmal for most of the game, maybe he's tired but not really an excuse.

Bobby was great early, reverted back later, thank god Brook wasn't out for extended time otherwise we were screwed.

Delon, Trent and AJ were great. Delon is a huge disruptor defensively, Trent finding his shot and competing defensively was big and AJ defended extremely well and had the nuts to hit a huge shot after a rough shooting stretch.

Brook was an absolute monster.

I still don't know what Doc does or what in the world our schemes are supposed to be.

And it seems that the more players we have available, the harder it is to understand. It gets more confusing watching us with all of our stars out there than it does when it's just Giannis on the floor. I don't know that Doc has a plan.

THANK YOU! been on this and ripped for it since media day. The only thing we do that makes sense is the Dame and GA drive/kicks.. everything else is yolo or hero ball .. plus Doc's only genius is talking upon yapping without answering any question.. politician or used car salesman bs.. he wants the guys to figure it out and maybe that's a genius move if we had Lebron but we have 99% low IQ bball players. Dame can't teach everyone how to play.. Doc needs to work or retire

Hope this performance rekindles the Brook interest for Houston.
