Brook is obviously a very poor fit for such a system, not only because he’s glacial, but because he doesn’t rebound.

For any of this to make sense, I think he has to be going out today.

Yeah, maybe, or maybe we just want to have more tools in the toolbox depending on the matchup

I will say, having a guy like Brook seems less important when Embiid is irrelevant and we dont have to go through Jokic.

You would still need to get a center back. Even if everyone thinks Giannis should have more minutes at the 5. Sims is a backup center with one skill.

Jericho Sims for Delon Wright...seems like a nothing move but I'm glad Delon wont be on the court again for the Bucks.

I'm going to continue banging the gong that Brook might actually have more trade value than people think.

1. He's a medium sized expiring. Obviously, finances are more important than ever in the NBA with punitive apron rules.
2. He's a useful player. Especially in certain matchups. Certainly diminished and flawed, but still a floor spacing, shot blocker who has consistently been available to play starter's minutes on a playoff team.
3. Good locker room guy. No concerns he's going to kill chemistry of a contender.
4. Fear of buyout. Like say we swap Brook and Conny for Jerami Grant so Portland can clear most of his three remaining years. They'd certainly buy him out. I'm not going to spend time looking to see who is eligible to sign him under new rules, but I'm sure he's not a guy contenders would want to see go to a rival for free/without having to give up assets.

Honestly I think we're actually worse off than before, even with Middleton as bad as he was...
I find it real hard seeing Kuzma just turn a switch and suddenly being a vastly better player that he's been this year but maybe(hopefully?) I'm wrong.

We're not done, Horst is going to make this even worse today. We're going to end up with either Smart or Bogdan, giving up everything we have left.

I like that... keep Doc-proofing the rotation

Trading the players that help you win for bad players isn't Doc-proofing.

If Brook has good value he can go.

Between Kuzma accepting a reduction in his trade kicker and posting about winning a championship in Milwaukee, i dont think hes being rerouted.

Not a good one.

Bad teams dont have superstars who create open shoots to role players. Thats why they are bad.
Good teams have superstars who create open shoots to role players. Thats why they are good.

Kuzma is role player. In bad team he doesnt have open shoots and need to create himself. He is not good at that and thats why we put him in "role players" category. In good team Kuzma has open shoots.

It is proven that Kuzma plays better in good teams. His stats are much better in Lakers (champions that year) comparing with his stats in bad Washington team.

It is 100% logical to hope that he will play much better in Bucks comparing with how he played in Washington because the Bucks are also good team with 2 superstars. Really not that complicate to understand.

Now, maybe he sucks for us too. But I fully support what Bucks did in this trade. Khris is done. Kuzma may be Lakers Kuzma or not but we had to try.

Could definitely see this trade happening, not that I endorse it:

Brook
Marjon

for

Smart
Huff

EDIT: I do love me some Jay Huff and his contract is great

How do we get one of them Utah/Phoenix pick things and move Brook with some and Pat with one for some stuff that helps.

If I were Bucks Draft Commander... I would have on the edge creating an Empire. (my signature says it all - I would have ended up getting both John Collins and I. Hartenstein in that draft year.
Unfortunately Bucks FO sucks at identifying the missing puzzles pieces and have a complete vision of archetypes that would be ideal for a Giannis team. The main reason is that Horst hasn't bounced a basketball enough to be able to separate what is elite and what is average.
I wish I lived in Milwaukee, I would be all over Horst daily sending him notes of players and ideas. At some point he would recognise that my eye for talent is legit top tier and we would eventually create an Empire.
Here we are though, he is doing decent considering his capabilities... Its like asking Shaq to play point guard.... No Horst is not good at drafting, he doesn't destroys a franchise but he tends to play the safe hand too many times and overpay in alot of his moves.
Alot of Horst and our problems would have been solved if he Drafted like whatever the majority of this board likes ... This board's collective mind is the greatest think tank for a GM to get ideas and info. He just drafted noone here mentioned... It happened too many times.
Anyway he is a bit below average for my taste , certainly nowhere near to being able to build a legacy team.

If Brook is going out it would be nice to get a center and SG from someone. Maybe Portland or Utah.

It is not easy to find starting C to pair with Giannis because of spacing. That C must have good shoot from outside. Maybe we try to get Vucevic from Bulls. Lopez and pick for Vucevic and fillers maybe. Or we just promote Portis in starting C. I know that Vucevic is not good at defense but he never played with defender at PF like Giannis. And Dame-Vucevic pick and pop game should be great.

I'd really like almost everyone on the Memphis roster, but hard pass on Smart.

With Dame and Kuzma, we need the other three players in that starting five to play above average defense....or at least the two bigs in Giannis and whoever else is out there.

Based on what? We have been speculating his departure for at least three years now and still he remains. I wont be surprised either way, just curious why you think hes gone.

If I had to guess the doors get blown off us by any teams that play with pace. We have traded our second slowest player in an effort to play faster, it would stand to reason trading our slowest player who also appears to have good trade value around the league makes some sense

Probably, but I am just happy no more Delon.
