Not convinced either had literally zero value. It's different when you talk about a rookie vs. 2nd yr player. Rookies still have theoretical upside. And Jackson just started half our games, being a defensive asset, while making peanuts. But this leaves a bad taste.

Chances are getting less and less we could trade them into another team's space even, or as sweetener in a deal. That's what I think was their value beforehand. Now I don't even know if we could do that.

W/ Ajax, clearly he had positive value at the trade deadline, around when he was starting for us. But Horst's trade philosophy is to wait until a player is a clear liability to us.

Maybe? Like would the wizards have preferred AJax over the other AJJ? I don't see it. Teams saw what he looked like with minutes and he regressed as more people had film on him. His minutes easily could be replaced by a lot of vet mins.

Someone would still take Ty Smith as a throw-in flier, but Andre’s value is as some convenient salary matching that you can just waive for nothing. That’s precisely why they pushed back the guarantee date.

Yep, trade value in AJJ and Smith was and still is, salary filler.

Nowell was the best playmaker in the G League last year. I doubt Sears ever has a G League season as good as Nowell had last year.

So what. It clearly doesn't translate above that level. Classic 4A guy. I'm almost sure Sears would be more functional an NBA player. And he probably won't be either. You unrealistically believe you're going to find mostly useful NBA players among 2-way guys you personally identify.

It didn't mean to make anything complicated, I just think Nowell is quicker than Sears, and there's no comparison in their passing skills.

The Bucks have no chance of hitting the tax this year. They can just cut Ajax and Smith if they want, it doesn't impact us.

If they are not needed in trades, I’d cut both, offer them gleague spots but not two ways, and give Livingston a real roster spot. He’s the one who looks like he has NBA ability.

Nance is probably fine to leave with a two way spot because even those he’s not an NBA player, he’s tall and when GA rests or Bobby gets suspended, you kind of need someone to just be tall.

Sounds like AJax is the Thon Maker of Joe Alexanders.

Give Livingston a 2 way, not a 15 man spot. We still need to add an actual rotation player.

Two wasted early 2nd rd picks! Bucks need to get more serious about scouting and player development.

So pissed we didn’t draft Terrence Shannon last year when we had a chance

How did our future star Cormac Ryan look in this one. Still lighting the world on fire?

I’m trying to decide if it’s easy or difficult to get worked up about 2nd round pick busts.

Don’t get worked up. It’s a total crapshoot in the second round. Bucks used up their second round luck on Redd back in the day.

Just a reminder: We passed on Jokic twice.

Norm Powell just got traded for a second rounder and people think we could’ve got some value for Ajax?

Sears Might be a guy like that he seems to have always beat the odds in his young basketball life
