Hopefully Giannis is willing to wait one more year until we can trade Dame next offseason.

Dame might be traded at the deadline if he can come back in December and show a little something. The return won't be great, though. He was already slowing down. No shade, just age.

That said, I'd be pleasantly surprised if we see him back this calendar year.

If OKC goes down again, Can we not demand Chet and Williams +? contract matching aside.

A good outcome for the Bucks is Suns win the lotto because Rockets own that pick. #1 overall plus salary filler of their choosing plus the future Suns picks for Giannis. They get to keep Thompson to pair with Giannis which is what truly makes them a contender.

We made our own bad luck on Dame. He had the strained achilles last offseason. Once he made it thru w/out tearing, being almost 34, could have bailed then. Then at the trade deadline w/ him getting older, the questionable fit, & the Fox prospects; should have pulled the trigger then.

Please for the love of god don't trade Giannis just to dump Dame contract. Dont even propose those trades, I'm going to lose it

After those years I think we could build a decent team, like a better chance than we'd have blowing it up now. Giannis still only 32, we'd be one of the top teams in free agency, 27 pick and 31 first to trade if needed, guys we already have I think have proven there's a decent chance they're pieces you could compete with.

I think you can shift that timeline one year forward. We won’t have a pick in 27, but we will in 26.

If we find a way to get some expiring deals, and recoup the young group we just started around Giannis, I think you ride that group for one season, and then all options are on the table next off-season.

Not sure I'd really move up the timeline but hitting that pick (with immediate results) would help a lot. Still think 2027 when you could add impact guys in free agency is the play. Suppose the expirings and picks could land those as well, maybe.

Why are we banking on the Bucks signing free agents? When have they ever signed an impactful big money free agent?

I ideally want to trade Giannis, for Flagg & add-ons, et al.; but attaching a liability to Giannis to dilute the return during a rebuild is utterly foolish.

Rockets Get: Giannis and Dame

If the Suns win the lotto, this is an easy yes. They can even pull back the other picks out of the deal if the Suns win the lotto.

The fact Doc wasn't catapulted into Lake Michigan already is an indictment of the front office. If he stays a few weeks, beyond what Bud did after his brother was killed, this org's a laughingstock. Retain him & they're a clown show. The worst run franchise in the league.

Their mealy-mouthed p.r. man Justin Garcia continuing to rationalize the job Doc's done has me very concerned....

I can’t believe some of you guys are even entertaining the idea that Doc will be gone. Like, why put yourself through that agony and stress?

Just accept the fact that he’s gonna be back.

Bud's brother gets killed and we lose. Immediate firing.

Doc potentially kills our entire franchise. Nothing.

I don't think Doc would want to stay, either. I'm sure he'd be glad to get paid to play rounds of golf with his media buddies over the grind of an 82 game season with a team that is stuck in the mud.

My guess is right before trade deadline for a few showcase games.

Smart and honorable thing to do with Bud was to give him a leave of absence with the option to move into a front office role when he was sorted out mentally. They could’ve then gave Charles Lee a shot at coaching or given the gig to Atkinson to keep building on that spurs coaching tree culture here!

There is no way they will be able to sell the fanbase on anything if Doc is kept.

And this is considering he won a championship two years prior. Doc’s teams he coached haven’t seriously contended in ages.

Bud was a victim of his own success.

During his third season he was rumored to be on the hot seat, but the prior years he had us in the conference finals and 2nd round. We go onto win the title and he gets an extension.

We lost once in the first round under Bud.

Meanwhile Doc loses twice in the 1st round, and spearheads one of the worst trades the franchise has ever made, and everything is quiet.

Get him out of here.

I'm sure there will be protests and boycotts, some orchestrated on this board, if Doc remains. Eventually he'd be forced out. But why continue to inevitably dig holes deeper before making a change? They could have learned that from Doc's lineup errors themselves.

My only thoughts of the possibility of retaining Doc would be he deserves to coach a team this bad.

But Giannis doesn't deserve it, nor do the fans. But I would look at it like punishment for Doc.
