Who can we steal from the Pelicans when they inevitably have their fire sale? Trey Jones (oops Trey Murphy) has been terrible and that contract is already an albatross. Herb Jones would still be perfect. It’s hard to judge any of those guys when they’re on such a terrible team.

um his name is TROY FREAKING MURPHY and we should not trade for him because he's an empty stats guy and is probably 50 years old by now.

Such a sweet stroke though. And he had at least one block that year.

Are we serious that Murphy has been terrible? Can't say I've watched them a ton, but everything I saw in the last few years has been the opposite. If he's been bad in 4 games so far I wouldn't put much stock in that small sample. 25 years old, right size/position we need, signed for 4 years. Not sure if he'd be worth our remaining assets to tack onto Kuz or not but that would be the discussion. I'd doubt they're looking to trade him since they just gave the contract though.

I think we have one big splash move left in the Giannis era coming this summer with the picks and an expiring Kuzma. Murphy could be a fit but I would rather wait and see what the options are for potentially something bigger.

Who even knows what that dumpster fire front office down in New Orleans is gonna do. They can't even tank this year so I highly doubt they're just gonna bail on Murphy immediately after inking him to that monster extension though. Also, I'm shocked that acquiring Jordan Poole hasn't worked out for them.

Shocked....

He was -32 in 32 minutes last night against Denver. -15 in 28 minutes against Boston the game before.

That team is going to lose 70 games. They will be dying to part with that contract.

How does that check out with last two years though? I don't know, just the vibe the last couple years has seemed to be all positive. couple games in which pretty much everyone on the team got big negatives like that in blowouts isn't much to base it off.

ETA: I'm no expert on advanced. But quick rudimentary look last year he was slightly good O rtg, with lower D rating. So it came out about a wash. The year before he was about neutral O rating, D he was a large positive. Someone else can dig more but doesn't seem like anything glaring there, especially while playing in a bit of poor situation. Main point was the question of are we basing this on 4 games? which your answer seems like you were. And side note, 25 mil per year in the current NBA is not a ridiculous contract, we just have to get used to the absurd numbers they're being paid

I’m still backing the Pellies to beat their 30 win o/u.

But they’ll never be a serious team. You can’t be with Jordan Poole and lazy ass Zion.

This is hilarious. I wasn’t a big fan but he also wasn’t the antichrist either. And he ends up getting promoted to the NYC market.

Wonder how hard OKC will push for 70 wins. They’re doing it easy atm and still have JDub to come back.

The Pelicans traded their first so they have no reason to go fire sale mode unfortunately.

Is Walt Frazier retired? Man, Novak keeps going to the places replacing/subbing for the best color commentators in the NBA. Frazier and Marcus are hands down the best in the biz. Knowledgeable, fun, homerish but not ridiculously homerish.

They're about 4 years past due on a coaching change. I doubt Dumars picks the right new coach though.

He's only doing 12 games but now he can do spots on NY sports radio and drone on about his glorious 2 year Knicks career. He was bad on his own here but him with Lisa was torture.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
