You didn't mention the lynchpin to it all. The amnesty of Drew Gooden that occurred last night.

Just returned from my Greece/Italy trip yesterday (and, no I couldn't find a Giannis Antetokounmpo 2nd division Filathlitikos jersey anywhere.) Most people didn't even know the name. Oh well...

When I left I was hoping to be able to discuss a completely revamped Bucks roster upon returning. So let me get this straight...

OJ Mayo 3/24 (I'm good with that one)
Zaza Pachulia 3/15
Carlos Delfino 2/6
Luke Ridnour 1/4

So OJ Mayo and three former Bucks retreads in arguably the most important offseason in franchise history? What am I missing? I see we offered Teague a deal that was matched. Without me having to read hundreds of pages, can someone please explain to me what the fug is going on? Whats the deal with Jennings? Why did the Bucks not offer more for Teague if they wanted him to be the starting PG? Any other rumors floated from BuckPack to get me excited about this season?[/quote]

BuckPack has gone MIA. Looks like you're pretty much caught up. Might sign and trade Jennings. He (not surprisingly) is said to be very unhappy with us right now. BP said at one point we were heavily targeting a "FA" SF, who we thought was AK47. Obs, that didn't work if he was the target. Now thinking it might be Granger.

Hammond has done better than usual, but still got owned by Danny Ferry on a reasonable offer sheet to Teague. Many of us believe that the success of the offseason depended on Ferry not matching. But, he did. Now we need to address the 1 and the 3 or we're ****.

Probably talked about a million times, PP, but I've been too Bucks depressed to read everything on here. Why amnesty Gooden now? Sign and trade BJ?

I just want our roster set, so I can prepare myself goddammit.

I wish BJ would just sign the QO, play the year out and that way the Bucks have some more options.

There is zero interest out there for a sign & trade right now involving him.

I second this, but would have to believe CV plays the towel-waving Gooden role buried deep on the bench if he came back to Milwaukee. What PF would be play over? He would purely be a throw-in.

The best deal your going to get is Stucky for Jennings,

Well, that's not true. Letting Jennings walk for nothing beats the hell out of Stuckey.

Whats the most we can put on a team option 4th year? Try to keep the first 3 at around 6-7 while making the the last year worth 10 milliion so that he can save face making it look like he got as much as Teague.

So basically, outside of signing OJ Mayo, I missed nothing. Can you give me more detail on how the Teague thing shook out?

Ferry matched with about 5 hours to spare.

There was never any doubt he was going to match other than a few people here that were trying to talk themselves into it.

Teague said that he didn't want to go back to Atlanta, but the Hawks matched anyway.

Teague said that he REALLY wanted out of ATL and wanted to play for the Bucks. Thought it was a done deal. We were all ready to celebrate. And then Ferry **** matched with about 4 hours until the deadline. Hammond offered a very reasonable sheet at 4/32. Now Jennings probably won't play for us and has a cap as to his "value" around the league.

We're ****. Ferry **** us again. **** you Ferry.

It made sense for Ferry to match, but there was PLENTY of info to suggest he wouldn't. From several reputable sources. And also, Gery haha.

I love the Bucks roster right now. Everything but Zaza getting 3/15.

No Ellis check
No Jennings so far check
Top 5 lotto tank team check.

Whats not to like?

I am fine with two things.

A. Tanking
B. Having enough talent to get at least a 4th seed in the East.

Who were the reputable sources? Not trying to be a knob, I seriously don't remember.

I guess I should've written never any doubt in my mind. The offer wasn't high enough to get him if they really wanted him.

if top 5 lotto tank team was a certainty I think you'd see 90 % of this board OK with with this roster

Ugh. Not that I wanted to overpay Teague, as I've only seen him play extended minutes vs the Bucks, but why not offer more if you really want him to be the PG? I'd rather throw 4/40 his way than burn money on ZaZa and Delfino. Seems like another very Bucks-like situation in that they sign end-of-the-bench guys before inking starters. Priorities, priorities. Well, thanks for the info.

Don't worry - Hammond will have something up his sleeve here soon (either resigning Jennings or otherwise) to put this team right back in the 34-38 win category.

It was blatantly obvious Ferry was going to match any fair offer and $8mil was very fair. What else was Ferry going to do? Sign BJ for $11mil? As Bucks see, option have been depleted to zip. Chalk that up as another bungle by Ham. Signing Teague to an offer sheet gave the power to Ferry. Ham should waited Ferry out to make a S&T using the positive Drew-Teague connection as his knowing that Teague would not sign with Hawks. Instead Ham couldn't hold his wad -got excited and prematurely offered a tidy package for Ferry to match.

were alright. erry matching fwasnt that big a deal..... and in retrospect backing out of the smith deal probably was in our best interest long term too. were already better than last year in the east.... the top of the EC got stronger, our comp for the middle got weaker. we still got 20 million to spare.... plenty of expirings for next year in the hole. this offseason has made us better, younger, and cheaper.

nothing to get to bent about unless we make some stupid moves from here.

I can agree with that and I'm not bent out of shape about Teague as it looks like his coach for the last 3 years didn't feel an offer of more than 4/32 was worth it.
