Cause with Bled gone he could have moved to PG, and a lineup of Brogdon/Jrue/Midds/Giannis/Brook would have been insane

that's actually depressing to think about :(

If you're horst, how much time do you give pat, ddv, and anyone else that might not be a fit, before you try and upgrade them? What if one, or both of the rookies show more, how long until you give them an opportunity?

That would be awesome. I thought he looked well in one of the Pacers preseason games I watched.

I want James Harden. I'm getting greedy.

Just remember that some of the picks we received for Brogdan were used to get Jrue. I doubt we get Jrue if we don't have the Indy pick in this year's draft. Also, with $20 million extra salary, we'd have been limited to the tax MLE, and couldn't have used the BAE, because we'd be over the hard cap that the BAE activates.

We also used a Brogdan pick in the Nwora deal, which looks smarter every time we see him.

Nothing greedy about wanting to pair up a top 5 player in his prime with a top 5 player in his prime.

I’m all for getting harden. I really think it would work because Giannis besides being all world offensively is the best defender in the league as well and is probably one of the only superstars to allow another guy more offense while he becomes the best defender in history

That's my point. Either get players that fit your system or change your system to fit the players you have. Bud doesn't seem willing to change his system so why not get players that fit his system?

Noah Vonleh was waived and could be a nice guy to take a shot on

If you're Horst, how much time do you give Bud before you try and upgrade him? Hopefully, not long. He is the weak link in all of this.

What kind of player is he? I haven't seen him too much, looks like he has good size.

I mean its not like he used Bledsoe wrong, slot him in the spot and hope he performs better.

Now that the deal is done, we can finally shift conversations to how we continue to evolve the team. Assuming Jrue signs his extension in Feb (who wouldn't want to link themselves to G) most of our contracts are pretty small. I think we have a couple more firsts to work with (21, 23, 24?) but who would you all prefer we look at? Harden and Oladipo seem a bit out of reach without moving Mids or Brook.

High energy guy that can shoot a bit, still only 24. Might be worth a shot, just a guy to give you a 5-10 min burst of energy if needed

Brook was the anchor of our defensive system which ranked #1 in the league the past two seasons. He's not here for his offense.

That defense sure got exposed in the playoffs too

I actually prefer this lineup:

Augustin, Jrue, Middleton, Giannis, BroLo
Mason, DDV, Connaughton, Wilson, Portis

Prefer Jrue as an SG, prefer DDV on the bench, prefer not to play Forbes.

I think whoever posted we have too many specialists, and not enough two way players had something. If we're not utilizing their strengths then it's going to be a double negative. Also we gave up a lot of size, especially with our guards. The play will get better for sure with more time together. Hopefully it'll improve enough, and the FO can pull a trade, or two out their ass somehow.

Was Mason resigned?
