The way Bobby Marks wrote it was weird saying "Grant Williams was sent to the Charlotte Hornets for PJ Washington" when that first round pick was critical, but either way his point looks to me like the Bucks could have made the same deal and passed.

Main question for today is how highly the Bucks value Bobby.

Bobby is less of a liability against Boston. That is how all trades should be framed right now.
Khris Middleton - Beating up on Trash Can Teams since 1943. Invisible Man status otherwise.

Middleton for either Murray, McCollum, Zion, or Ingram. Are any of these possible in any way?

So you want to trade a bucks legend who has elite chemistry w Giannis and is our best playmaker, best passer, best mid range shooter, a great clutch player and once fully up to speed will be a below average but not terrible defender for guys who either arent as good or are never healthy?

Khris was great the last two playoffs. Focus on that.

.

Yeah....thats exactly how we should be thinking. Bobby helps the offense if one of our top 3 goes out but we are probably done if that happens regardless.

1. Bobby out, switchable 3 and D player in. Doesn't even need to be that great of a shooter, just keep defenses honest. Should not cost much. Just a cog.

2. Need to find the answer at the 2. We cannot have one player who can hit threes and another that can only defend and another that does everything at an OK level. We need a real two-way guy and thats where our assets (including Bobby) should go. I was really hoping this would be Trent but i dont think its happening.

Bobby has a $13.4 million player option for 2025-26 and is currently eligible to sign a four-year, $81 million extension.

Sam Amick re-affirmed Bobby's value as a locker room leader the other day -- including lighting the match that ultimately got Griffin canned.

But if there's been any extension talks all involved have kept that way quiet.

And now Bobby Marks and Evan Sidery are stirring the pot at least.

Could be BS clickbait for the most part.

Or Horst made some calls recently that have certain sources around the league talking.

I wish Eubanks made a little less. Can’t see any reason for Utah to hold onto him.

Would a 2nd be enough for them to swap Pat for him?

Isn't Theis a sieve on defense? How would that help interior defense?

What? Bobby and Brook are most liable against Boston...

Zingus
Tatum
Brown
White
Holiday

That's a nightmare for Brook/Bobby, the best you can hope for is throw one of them on Holiday leave him open and hope he clanks a bunch of 3s.

There was a time when Thies was very switchable, but that time has passed.

A strong part of me would hate to trade for a player who had their best years in Boston.

If we had traded for Grant Williams last year, he still would have tried to party with the celts in the locker room when they won the title, and we would have absolutely loathed him for it.

Maybe we facilitate something with the Lakers and Nets.

Pelinka said at media day that he wanted to evaluate the team after the 30-game mark. The Lakers play their 30th game of the season on Christmas Day at Golden State. The Lakers’ recent skid — they’ve lost eight of 12 games — hasn’t exactly been a ringing endorsement for investing in this group. The results in the next few weeks will determine how much pressure is on the front office to upgrade this roster.

Similar to last season, the Lakers believe they have three positional needs at the trade deadline:

- A tough, physical, defensive-minded center.
- A big 3-and-D wing who complements Davis and James as a starter/closer.
- A big, quick, athletic guard with point-of-attack defensive capabilities.

After trading Schröder, Brooklyn is expected to make wings Cam Johnson ($22.5 million but with a likely cap hit of $27 million) and Dorian Finney-Smith ($14.9 million) available — and much sooner than the Feb. 6 deadline. Both have been tied to the Lakers for months. The Lakers have been interested in Finney-Smith for at least a couple of years.

I would think that if we got Williams and the pick in the Dallas deal, we were doing so to reroute both.

AJ Green > Donte on 3p shooting,
AJ Green is bigger, stronger can guard from 1-3 and I have seen him blocking out effectively opponents center when switched. Donte is strictly a 1-2 defender and most of those matchups he is still undersized. Donte likes to gamble more for steals which is great when he is successful and awful when his man ends up making an easy layup. AJ Green is more off a holding his ground defender and committed to stay in front of him, which I prefer.
Donte struggled alot with his Rim % , I remember him missing too many easy bunnies due to his small size.
Unfortunately we can't see how good AJ Green is at the rim cause he has a certain sniper role in our team. I would love to see Green get 15 FGAs to see how he can handle it.

At this point, if we'd kept Donte, we'd have traded him for Dame anyway. The sands of time have swallowed this mistake.

If the Sixers go on a losing streak I wonder what it would take to get KJ Martin and Yabusele. Would the Bucks have to give up their '31 1st rd pick or could they make it a swap with protections that eventually turn into a future 2nd rd?

The league would undoubtedly step in and veto such a lopsided trade. Talk about a pipe dream 8-)

I'm assuming a Brook trade is pretty close to being off the table if they were ever serious about it at all. So I'd pivot to what's the best trade we can construct involving Bobby/Pat/Marjon without having to attach a 1st.

Bucks Out: Bobby, Pat, Marjon, 2031 2nd
Bucks In: Dorian Finney-Smith, Marcus Sasser

Nets Out: DFS
Nets In: Pat, Malik Beasley, 2031 MIL 2nd, 2027 DET 2nd, 2028 MIA 2nd

Pistons Out: Beasley, Sasser, 2nd's
Pistons In: Bobby, Marjon

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
