Monroe, Monroe, Monroe. The Knicks are all over the national media with their you may as well look elsewhere because Monroe is signing with NY is BS. Get him in here, show him how that he can be a part of Owning the Future and our young core. Fly his Mom in and give her a tour of our wonderful city or something.

I'd much rather have Middleton, but have to think Bucks have a backup plan if a team gives him the max.

Are we prepared to match a max offer?

Yes, of course, why wouldn't we match a max offer on Middleton? We can afford Middleton AND Monroe, both on a max contract.

There is no reason at this point not to try to win as many games as we since we're already a playoff team, its not like the difference between the 8th seed and picking in the top 5 any more. Winning at this point only can help the development of Giannis/Jabari and the perception of the city and franchise. We're betting a lot on Giannis and Jabari being the guys but I believe they have a chance to special, I just want to give the best environment possible to develop.

I'm loving the idea of Monroe more and more, but for some reason I'm not too optimistic about it happening.

Robin Lopez has a flippy hook and a usable midrange jumper, and Portland is bracing for rival bids north of $12 million per season, according to sources around the league

A max contract for Monroe starts at $15,768,500. I'd much rather have Monroe at the max than RoLo at $12mil per.

MONROE IS THE GUY! But can we overcome the Knicks to get him? Doubtful. But where before it was absurb to even consider it - today its at least possible. The Bucks are finally having their "Packer" transition.

NO TO ADDING
NO to Wade, No to Brooks, No to Chandler (for more than 2 yrs/24m), No to Green

YES TO TRADING FOR
Yes to Bledsoe and Yes to Splitter (if Monroe doesn't get the memo to sign with the bucks)

YES TO SIGNING
Jordan Hill C/PF - we need rebounding and he excels - can also defend and score a little - $16mil/2yrs - player option
Ed Davis - PF - we need rebounding and he excels - is also a strong 3pt shooter - $8mil/2yrs - player option
Cole Aldrich - C - we need rebounding and he excels - can also block shots - $3mil/2yrs
Biyombo - C - we need rebounding and he excels - can also block shots - NO O - has size - POTENTIAL - 4m/3yrs

Off-topic question...

When will our little Bucks icon under our user names get changed to the new logo?

This is the case, whether everyone likes it or not. That's why moves like acquiring Vasquez don't kill me as long as we are also continuing to draft young talent. We have so many young players on our team right now that it only makes sense to try and roll with some of them and surround them with mature veterans and guys who can give them valuable playoff experience.

Given the available options, retaining MIddleton and bringing in Monroe would be a pretty good offseason. MCW/Middleton/Parker/Giannis/Monroe is far better offensively than last years group, and doesn't have a starter over 25. Still has three plus defenders in the starting five and Monroe had a positive DRPM last year as well.

I'd be excited about that team. We need to stay away from old and/or overpriced guys. Green, for example, wouldn't look nearly as good here as he did in San Antonio, will be overpaid, and is 28 as opposed to Middleton's 23. Chandler, nice player, but already hit his decline somewhat and misses a lot of games. You're bringing him in at age 33 in the first season of his deal. Probably not a smart move.

If you think Kyle O’Quinn has some unrealized upside, and no one is offering him more than $3 million per season, why not see if you can get him on a three-year, $12 million with the mid-level?

I like this idea from Lowe's comlumn today too. Middleton+Monroe+KOQ, get r done

multiple sources are telling him that, must be true :)

Robin Lopez getting $12M a season is crazy, Monroe at $15M or whatever is a bargain at this point and he doesn't even want a super long term deal which works perfectly with us, he fits exactly what Kidd wants out of a center and is young enough to fit with our core. Maybe playing with a winning team would allow Monroe to shine.

I like Chandler. I think his defense will improve our team and his rebounding is huge.

For those who are down on this, think to yourself, would you rather have Tyson Chandler starting at C or Zaza Pachulia?
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I don't think Chandler has hit his decline yet. He's coming off of a really good season where he produced what the Mavs needed him to produce and played 75 games. I don't think I'd sign him to anything more than two years, but I think he's a really quality fit for the roster.

Great second choice if we can't get Monroe.

Meh. Chandler is fine on a 2 year contract. I'd prefer Monroe (I think). But, not by much. I thought about Wade a little more. We'd have to overpay him and manage his minutes. But, a three year contract? I think I'm okay with that. Maybe you use him as a sixth man.

MCW/GV/Wade
Middleton/Wade
Parker/Middleton
Giannis/Parker
Chandler/Henson/Zaza

If that team meshes, there's no way it doesn't win 50 in the East with even minimal player development over last year. By the time Wade and Chandler have retired (at the end of their contracts), we have a huge cap and Giannis and Parker have come into their own.

How we'd make the salary work for this, though, I don't know.
The Bulls are the absolute worst.

Can I vote for Henson?

His rebounding should continue, I agree. My biggest concern with him is injuries, and I also was hoping for a C with at least some range.
