Glad it's getting a sequel. I really liked the first - and clearly the personality and bones are/were there for it to be a great IP - but it was also missing something. Maybe that it was stupidly easily, felt a little too closed-world, or something else. But it was definitely still fun, so hoping they can build on the good things of 1 and address some of the shortcomings.

I didn't like the first one but it's because, like you said, it was so easy. It was over and done with so quickly and I barely remember a thing about it.

The Square event was aggressively horrible.

Metroid Dread looks good, if not a rip off of Shadow Complex, a game that ripped off Super Metroid.

Fairly big "meh" for the Nintendo event. They hit 1/4 (Zelda, Metroid, Mario, new Switch), and they barely hit on the 1.

ETA: I was so unenthused throughout I forgot that SMT5 was finally showcased after 5 years. And it looks terrible. It looked like a PS2 game.

Dread was a dropped GBA game from the 00's. They picked up development again for it. Advance Wars looks pretty good.

I thought the Zelda stuff looked interesting in that to me it looked like DLC. Then come to find out it originally was going to be DLC, but they decided to expand it into a new game.

As someone who religiously played BF4 I am stoked for this one. Inject it in my veins

Nintendo event was pretty meh, no real huge must have thing for holiday. That said, Metroid Dread and the Advanced Wars remake are aggressively targeted at me so I’m pretty happy with both of those.

Those were definitely the highlights...not sure they were intended to be :D I have a feeling Advanced Wars remake(s) will be way overpriced for what I'd want to pay ($20).

Thought the same exact thing and then I saw the price was $59.99 and chuckled.

Ooof. That price is steep but also I’m stupid and probably going to do it anyway.

Not much going on after the E3 week essentially concluded yesterday, but just here to distract myself from that embarrassing playoff loss yesterday.

Did a bit of a list check to see what interests me through the end of the year after all the "big" announcements:
Back 4 Blood
Battlefield 2042
Warhammer 40k: Darktide
Mario Golf: Super Rush
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Metroid Dread
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp

Hollow Knight Silksong is TBD and could easily miss the year, so I didn't include it above. Could easily end up skipping both Back 4 Blood and Battlefield 2042 depending on reviews. On the fence with Mario Golf --- it looks great, but will I play it enough? Pokemon could end up a skip. Really only Metroid and Advance Wars seem like my for sure games in 2021.

I can't remember who here recommended I check out Enter the Gungeon but you were right, it's great.
